All you hear from the pulpit is how God wants to bless and prosper you.
You never hear how satan wants you to be rich too!! I bet you have'nt.
But satan is more subtle than meets the eye.
He wants you to have it all too.
Sometimes he steals from you , other times he pours it on.
He's the god of this world,remember! He got the gold. He is ruler.

But his plan to prosper you is for a purpose.
Off the top of my head, one scripture that corroborates what i'm saying is
that one in the parable of the sower
. Jesus talks of the decietfulness of (what!) riches.

The riches were so much they drowned out the word!
So the word didnt sprout and yield its harvest.

Think about it!!
Business deals were coming left and right.
Your phone was ringing.
Mouth watering offers were coming on you.
It was God , embarrasing you with blessing!
Was it?
We've been indoctrinated in church - pentecostal christianity - to
class such occurence under one umbrella - God's blessing.

But sometimes, like Jesus said, they're weeds meant to drown out the word.
They're competing for thought space until you think money all the time.
You lose passion for the word and spiritual activity.
You reduce prayer . Shrink it to a 1 - 5 minute thing , so you can catch up on how your money is doing.

The other thing is the effects unsanctioned riches will bring.
Pride, confidence in riches (which is confidence is Mammon).
Notice how the rich of the world get puffed up in pride,
How their identity is tied to their financial worth?! - (Donald trump sued for being called a 'mere' millionaire)
For the unprepared mind such temptations will sway them right out of the path to heaven.

The fact, is it's not that God doesn't want his children to be rich but money is like a loaded gun.
You have to be trained to handle it.
It's like electric power, You need fortitude to handle the current.
Most christians just aint prepared to handle truely serious wealth.
So it is by God's mercies that they're managing what they have.
Any more above their level and they'll become intoxicated and fall into sin:
Some folks, will start chasing women.
Look down on those lesser off than them.
Stop attending mid week service , swap it for hanging out at the club or cinema etc.

So in a truely cautious sense, a christian not wanting to take a wrong bait.
Should actually seek to know if the luscious offer dangling before him is from God or the devil.

In the bible, Abraham had just come from the slaughter of kings,
the king he rescued or so offered him money and wealth. Abraham turned it down!
It wasnt a bribe. It wasnt a dirty money , per se.
But he turned it down.
Because, it wasnt God-sanctioned.
