It’s no longer getting funny. We’ve to beg God to please Intervene in this Terrible Situation of things and hope he listen to the cry of Nigerians in time.

This is the exchange rate of Dollar to Naira as of this night… This morning it was at N358 to $1.

Endtime dollar. There are speculations that the dollar will inevitably crash on 19/2/16. Will this give the naira a boost?

This one is strong........ If by 2019, Buhari is also tagged as a failure, it is better we divide, the country has no more hope.

The question is above your level of comprehension.
E rats who dont understand the effects of exchange rates on economies and who seldom handle foreign exchange come here daily reminding us that naira is failing against the dollar. Ask them the policy implications and what needs to be fixed they start calling God to help them. Country of jokers!

Even if dollars crashes by 100,000 point, the naira will still go south. The only option is for FG to devalue and go back to Economic 101 class.

This country is finished!

Let me see the hypocritical twit that will invoke GEJ. GEJ left office with naira to dollar at 210 and today it's almost 400 naira. GEJ inherited naira to dollar from Yaradua at 165, it stayed at this rate +/-15 for 4 yrs, it was only towards the end of 2014 that we began to see fall in naira largely caused by those who are bent on sabotaging his achievements to make sure he doesn't get re-elected. Compare dollar to naira loss in value under GEJ from 165 to 210 within 4-5 yrs span...that's very reasonable. However under Buhari from 210-400 in barely 8 months? This is disastrous...an invitation to anarchy. Did you guys noticed that under Jonathan when naira depreciates, it appreciates back within few days. But under Buhar...it only depreciates.

Keep blaming GEJ and oil price until dollar hits 1000 Naira by July by the rate Naira is falling.

A better option is to allow it to float.

Let the market determine its real value.

Devaluation will peg it at official rate.

Artificial official rate is not the solution. It won't stop their round-tripping.

It seems it's their party's strategy to generate funds. What they have been temporarily 'blocked' from generating from their 'zero budget'.

2017 budget will beat record... ₦1 quadrillion!, all the social sectors will be substantially finance to trillions ₦, poverty will be completely eradicated and by the end of year 2018 Nigeria will be declared a developed state and classify one of the first three country in the index of human .
I know you will argue on how this can happen with the economics situation of today, low foreign reserve, low oil price, with depreciation of ₦.
yes oil price is down, foreign reserve is dry but we still have foreign looted fund reserve at hand! when recovered and well managed, it won't be problem to have money for this budget!
we can only pray that a $ hit ₦1000 and all $1 trillion looted recovered!
I know for sure that with the determination of this government and the support of foreign nation to help recovered all $ trillion looted it will happen.....$1 trillion recovered and change to ₦ will give us ₦1 quadrillion needed to financ that budget!
year 2017 bye bye to poverty!

Exactly the reason I don't comment on all these "currency falling" threads. The PDP supporters are simply too emotional about their loss at the polls and think this is a perfect item to insult the ruling party with. They hardly understand anything about fiscal/monetary policies.

GEJ did this, GEJ did that, you people have no shame.

What was the price of oil when he took over??

What was the price of oil when he was in charge, and what was it just before he left office??

Didn't the value begin to plunge just after the oil price begin to plunge??

How was he responsible for a strong currency??

If he was responsible, how come the value declined from an average of 170 to the dollar to 210 in just a few days?? Why couldn't he control/prevent the fall??

Couldn't it have been worse if he had still been in charge??

How did "people bent on sabotaging his admin" cause the fall of the dollar?? Why this devilish lie?? Can you listen to yourself??

....there are very many commentary on depreciation of ₦ nowadays expecially in parallel market, although parallel or black market can be manipulated by the traders, they either do it on their self interest, so those who doesn't beleive in the prosperity of nigeria can harbour $ as they can on imported goods hereby cause hike!
But in my own point of view the depreciation of ₦ is a great success to this nation if well manage to nigeria situation today. the looted fund is in $ and it must be refunded back in $, so if $1 is ₦198 when the money is looted, then if the money is refund today at $1 to ₦350 the nation has gained ₦152!
imagine if $1=₦1000, the gain is ₦902!
So in conclusion if the government managed to refund the $trillion looted and the refunded money, change it in parallel market, this will reduce the pressure on ₦ and the scarcity of $ in parallel market so the ₦=$.

(take note all the money took out of CBN during jonathan regime were changed in parallel market before ditributed)

Blame GEJ, and the naira falls even further.
Does anybody in office have the common sense to do something differently?
Anyway, I predict it will reach 500 by the end of the week. That's a good round number!

APC is a national disaster of atomic effect. Barely 9 months in power, the nation's economic survival is being threatened by sheer lack of sound economic policy and direction and capacity management. Now it's obvious they (APC) came to power hoping on crude oil sales to earning forex without a plan B. Little wonder the president spent 3 months trying to put in place his ministers.
It's very important to have presidential aspirants engage in debates prior to election atleast, to enable the masses access their mental capacity in what they can do differently to uplift the people, the economy, and move the country forward if voted to power.
