Ethnic and tribal clashes have been militating against the unity and growth of Nigeria. One problem too many. We are too tribalistic and ethnically inclined. |

Igbos are quickly using this clash as a point to ridicule Yorubas for allegedly aligning with the North to vote out GEJ. But they have forgotten that they themselves started this alignment with the North in 1960 when Zik, in the name of his "one-Nigeria" slogan rejected the proposed all-south alliance and went for the Hausa-Igbo alliance which subsequently misruled and caused anarchy in Ibadan, Okrika, Tivland etc to the extent that young majors struck and caused further anarchy. Igbos hardly miss an opportunity to ridicule "one Nigeria" as not working. But who invented "one-Nigeria"? Azikiwe, an Igbo, did at a time it was very clear that Nigeria can never become one. I have heard the arguement that Zik preferred to align with the North in 1960 because he did not trust Awolowo given the "cross-carpeting" saga. This arguement is very worthless because later in 1964 the same Zik accepted to align with the same "tracherous" Awolowo's AG in forming UPGA. So how do you claim a man is treacherous and just 4 years later you go back to join that man? Then you yourself are the real traitor. Zik simply is the cause of all the problems Nigeria has suffered. 2 Likes |

Why cant the arewas and IPOB go home and stop constituting mosquito like nuisance in yoruba homes. Yorubas normally dont kill. I can imagine how badly the boys were vexed b4 they could decide to fight |

Deadlytruth: This is why i have always maintained that these folks are genetically mischievous. The northerners slaughtered them like "eran ileya" in 1945 and 1953 yet Zik and his people still went ahead and form govt with them in the first republic singing the discordant tune of "One Nigeria". Even after the civil war despite all the atrocities that the northern war "generals" unleashed on them, not forgetting the pogrom, come the 2nd republic these same impish folks still went ahead and aligned with the northerners to form a govt. In fact, ojukwu , after sending 3million gullible folks on a chicken run, came back from exile to join a northern party NPN, sitting at the same table with those who took delight in killing his fellow kith and kins with gusto but no one label them abooki slaves o. 3 Likes |

The most difficult country to rule in is Nigeria, if this happen, Hausas will shout tribalism, if that happens, Yorubas will shout nepotism, if another happens, Igbos will shout marginilization.... Until the unholy marriage is broken, I don't think peace can reign in this seemingly cursed nation 2 Likes |

T9ksy: Thank you for seeing what I see. How could any reasonable people claim that it was the need to avenge Awolowo's refusal to allow them govern the Western Region (which did not even belong to them in the first instance) that made them choose to form alliance with people who had already been slaughtering them? Is there any sense in that? You left your own region and went all the way to another man's region seeking to govern him in pursuit of your fraudulent one-Nigeria and you expected him to accept that crap from you while your own region back home was being governed by your own selves. Why could Zik not stay back and first seek the premiership of his own Eastern region? If he truly believed in "one-nigeria" then why did he not even first go and seek premiership of the Northern Region where he was actually born and brought up? A people to whom charity does not start from home are nothing but fraudulent impostors. 1 Like |

Deadlytruth: @ bolded................. do wetin? are you kidding? He didn't even campaign in the northern region-the region of his birth, so how can he expect to get premiership position? Probably because he knows what awaits him if he dare.....Mr fake nationalist. it's only in the western region that the mischievous fella decided to campaign and when he lost, resorted to abject lies claiming "carpet-crossing" . But when asked for the election result that necessitated the so-called carpet-crossing, neither zik nor his fellow impish folks could come up with this undisputable evidence but that notwithstanding didn't deter them from regurgitating the same fallacious tale, more than half a decade after the fact. 1 Like |

Dear Gov Ambode, This is the time to work hard and set rules for the mile 12 market. No more selling on the road. All commercial activities must be restricted to the state allocated enclosure. Whoever heads mile12 must have knowledge of logistics, (a truck cannot offload tomatoes for 5days pending when sales is complete while blocking the market entrance). Fashola built a lovely road at maidan but some people are determined to spoil it. Fines for the destruction of public property) There are so many unused shops within the premises as more sales are done on the road. Determine operational period for the market. Market daily cleanliness (set up a green process of making waste available to farmers and biogas producers) Security: install some CCTV, market police, register every business person in the market, stop using agberos as tax collectors, if a group of people are not willing to drop their weapons then we all must wield weapons. Dear Gov, you determine how our Lagos should be. And we want a cleaner more efficient beautiful lagos. |
