MEND is playing the game on a National stage. . . . .trust FG to want to label Rochas Okorocha a militant. . . . . must they only negotiate with militants?. . . . they do not wanna see MEND legitimised in any form. . . . but whether they like it or not, MEND is putting together a crack team to negotiate on behalf of Niger-Dellta and all other oppressed Nigerians. . . . . when Jerry Adams negotiates for Sinn Fein on issues which concern IRA, we treat him as a politician, not a militant. . . . these are the first shoots of the establishment of a political wing to legitimise the struggle. . . . expect more big names soon. . . .

It is another political masterstroke by MEND.

Gen. Abbe is trying to stall the budding cooperation between the Niger Delta minorities and the Igbo. It makes it magnitudes more difficult to sweep aside the genuine needs and aspirations of the South.
But such cooperation is essential to the struggles of both the Niger Delta minorities and the Igbo.

It remains to be seen how the relationship with the South West will pan out. Ondo state is likely to go with MEND, but that might be as far as it goes for the South West.
