Section Of Ladipo Market Demolished by Nobody: 9:33pm On Mar 08, 2016
A section of Ladipo market called Odo Aladura in Lagos State, western Nigeria, was Tuesday morning demolished by unidentified persons suspected to be thugs who attempted to demolish it recently before traders prevented the thugs.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the suspects invaded the market in the morning around 3:00 a.m. and demolished the entire market and hurriedly left before the traders got to the market in the morning.

Traders’ goods kept in the various shops worth millions of naira were destroyed.
Before the traders got to the market Tuesday morning, the whole shops had been reduced to rubble.

There had been crises for some weeks after the same thugs invaded the market and attempted to demolish it but the traders mobilized themselves and chased the thugs away.

That invasion of the market resulted in serious fracas between the traders and the thugs during which many traders sustained injuries.
One of the traders, Anene Utasi, was attacked with a machete and also shot. He was rushed to LUTH where he eventually died.

This sparked another round of violent protest and many shops and other properties believed to belong the leader of the thugs were destroyed.
It took the intervention of the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni before the situation was brought under control.

Following the death of Utasi, Owoseni ordered the arrest of Cemetery Attendant, Monday Lawrence and other suspected thugs who were behind the death.

Lawrence was yet to be arrested when thugs invaded the market in the early hours of Tuesday and demolished over 2,000 shops, destroing goods worth millions of naira in the shops

That city needs urgent sanitation .
Okada, street trading, slums , illegal structures ,haphazard construction ,open air market etc have to go .poverty is not an excuse to allow the city or region to rot away.

As the Chief Security Officer of the State.

The Governor has the right constitutionally, to shut down any market that is considered to be a security threat to his State. In this article, it was stated that "LIVES" has been lost, in skirmishes over some parcel of land at the market.

But again, the story is ambiguous on who actually carried out this act as stated by the traders themselves. Some said it was thugs, who had earlier being pursued away, and some that are political mischief makers are blaming the Government of Lagos State.

Nobody knows yet who carried out this act.

But, this is what i know about the Lagos that i grew up in. The State is a respecter of Law, and if the Government was involved in this, i am sure a notice would have been given to these traders "YEARS" ago.

Same Scenario played out in Oshodi, even if for years the Government had been giving them notices. But trust "THOSE PEOPLE" to play on the sentiments of others by playing the "VICTIM" card.

This is totally wrong. When did they become the government agency that is responsible for urban development. Shameless miscreants, lazy fools who couldn't fight the hausa/fulani at mile 12.

Enemies of the progress of an Igbo man

Another attack on Igbo businesses by apc lagos government.
This is a well written script already in play, we all know the Buhari led govt has promised to stifle Igbo businesses all round the country using the slave West as a willing tool. They have started from deliberately burning down most Igbo dominated markets around the country to the systemic criminal demolition of most Igbo dominated markets in lagos without prior notice, coupled with endemic fx policy and banning of most igbos dominated importation commodities.
But this time on, they are hugely mistaken to think the Igbos will fold it's hand and watch it's gains turns ruins.

Nairalanders supporting this action on here are pathetic,

Maybe i shouldn't even blame them, cause the haven't even dared to venture into a business before due to their laziness.
Waking up in the morning to meet your business place demolished and your goods looted is a traumatic experience everybody should pray not to go through

If it were to be Hausas, by now there will be riot. The igbos value life and will not embark on such. That's why no tribe should engage the Hausas in any fight. They are savages and miscreants without purpose driven life.
