This is a cypher written by Nairaland Poetry Club (NPC) members titled "COMPASSION".
Compassion is down the drain in today's world. We live in a selfish world where everyone thinks about themselves and neglecting others.

Where is our Sympathy? Where is our Love?
It is time to make the phantom called "Compassion" to be real again.

This cypher is a blend of real life event and imagery describing the state of affairs in our dear country.

Let us have compassion for one another. It begins with you!

Jigsawkillah:
Raised in the slums
Where Cholera presides over
Kwashiorkor is a tag on our sons
Undergrowth, our daughters

I sit and stare, weep for them
Never for me, my case is heavenly
Chicken once in a year
Some of them never tasted it

Yuzjet:
I'd persevere in dark dusk
With no rush, I'd only hope on luck
Hood been so hateful,
I'd give my all and make it useful
No bond but I'd make it not disgraceful

I'd make my domestic really favoured
To all, not just for labourers
Here I swear, I'd die for my neighbours
In pains or agony, I'd make it my flavours

Jigsawkillah:
Lost my eyesight, couldn't pay for glasses
No need to tell Dad, we barely have three square meals
Couldn't see the blackboard, for that, I skipped classes
A true example of one who poverty stole his skills

But yet! My case is never the worst
Evy sells paper bags, and starves to school
She told me, I was short of words
I wished I could help her, only wishing I could

Donifez:
A philanthropist heart
Yet sin pulls the nation cart
Sins of our father's
Enveloping the atmosphere like fart

Forgiveness without sin
Dark lights never go dim
I cry for my nation
Stagnant - no motion.

Jigsawkillah: 
Raised in a street, where young boys are deemed thieves
Where the highest government is any from the military
They beat you till you succumb to their lies, just to live
A street, where truth, justice, fairness, isn't necessary

A victim of the oppression, wished to set things right
Wish I could speak, while everyone's in sight
I fear for my head, especially in the midnight
These guys force you to deliver intestines, midwives

Donifez:
Decrypting the nation vault
Stealing without guns
Children in deshabille
No money to foot the bill

Mystery unravelled in tents
Fasting without lent
compassion for hungry souls
Hunger made them black as coal

Jigsawkillah:
Torn uniform, a sandal turned slippers
She had compassion on me
She, a Senior school French teacher
When she caught me washing toilets

I've lost contact since, I owe her a debt
She partially took me off the street
That's why I'll help people, till my death
But I still can't help my family! Jeez!

Donifez:
Call the apothecary
Stuff the drugs,let me carry
Wriggling like worms
Death is a norm

Making ends meet
Never ending, no meat
Burial announcement
No breath - annulment

Sin no more
White as sheet
Out from the priest door
Hustling till sheep's bleat

Death from a metal
Bullet the last medal
Compassion is for dogs
Always a thug

Yuzjet:
Cut my hands, injure my ankle
Will thrive and make my hood not cripple
As the pillar, will make it stand so right
As bright as the tungsten light

Street so teared apart
Pretty best thing dried out of sight, scary?
This is a fear that I'll have to fight
Even if I'd do this for all my nights

Jigsawkillah:
Slave to hunger
Everyday, Ramadan
We eat in slumber
By day, we fast

We stay skinny
Protruding tummies
Mouth wide from yawning
We look like mummies
