Embattled Nigerian Actors Guild president,Ibinabo Fiberisima's son, Sean has written an open letter to Nigerians, begging them to pray for his mother ..This comes after the court of Appeal upheld her 5 year jail sentence leaving her with just one chance to appeal at the Supreme court .Sean a footballer wrote...

People of Nigeria,

This is Sean, first and proud son of Ibinabo Fiberesima, I write on here today to plead with all Nigerians to pray for my mother. She is going through the toughest of times right now, and so are we, her family. I've been reading heartbreaking comments on her matter that 'she thinks she's above the law', 'she doesn't feel sorry for the family of the deceased', 'she was drunk and deserves this punishment', let me get a few things straight with you now.My mother is the most humble woman I know, I was not aware she was a celebrity until I was about 14 and that's only because my uncle told me, she does not see herself or act as if she is above any other person.

She is a proud Nigerian who loves her country and its people.Secondly, she has been carrying heartbreak around with her for the past 11 years after the accident. She understands the pain for the deceased family and is very hurt about what happened herself. She has tried her utter most to console with the Family, so don't ever think she does not care.Thirdly she was not drunk, the charges are reckless and dangerous driving, first of all I refuse to believe my mother was driving recklessly or dangerous, as I've been in a car with her countless times and nothing has happened. On this occasion it was unfortunate, she was unlucky, her car flipped over which happens to a number of cars and another car smashed into her. She was in a comma for days, she could have easily lost her life, but thankfully, by Gods strength only she survived. She did not set out that day trying to kill someone or herself.

Right now my mother is broken, and needs the prayer and support of all Nigerians, so please put all your conspiracies about this matter aside, I know it's between her and God now.

Join us, myself, Craig her son who is 14, Malcolm and Brian her other sons and her beautiful Daughter Zino who is just 8, and the rest of her family, to pray for my Mother. Let God decide what is just and what is not.

Whatever your religion, join us and Pray for my mother as well as the family of the deceased. We can all get through this but not without God.

Thank you for reading, may God bless you all.

Rubbish!! Trying to pick on people's emotion to cause sympathy for your mother will not work.

Your mom was not drink driving bla bla bla . Where was she coming from, which obviously was a club or party, what did she take there. If she did not smoke, maybe she took some 'Igbo'. That trash about your mom being a careful driver and your judging from the times you have been with her in the car is absolute nonsense, what mother drives rough when she has her kids on board, what kind of mother would she be.

Do not bring in that age thing about you and your siblings pls, it's highly annoying. How old where the man's kids when your mother recklessly cut his life short?.

Little mama's boy, your mother is not going away forever like Dr Giwa, she is just going on a little vacation in prison, she will be back. So please pray for her safe stay instead of trying to justify an evil act.

Ibinabo had many chances to show how remorse she was after her actions, but, she never did. It's good to be alive and live well, but did she reach out to the family and take an unforgettable step in honor of the late doctor?.

Nna, As much as I feel for you and your siblings, this isn't the time to be on social media trying to explain the difference between drunk driving and reckless/dangerous driving.

More importantly, you do not tell people “So please put your conspiracies aside...” It sounds impolite and if anything, it will aggravate readers rather than generate the empathy you seek from them because it comes across like you are accusing rather than pleading for empathy. Personally, I couldn't read past that sentence, it was off-putting.

This matter isn't personal. It's the law. The law may forgive but it also punishes and that's just the way it works. No one should be above it. As a UK trained graduate, I expect that you respect the law. Stop infuriating anger in the public over you mum's situation

Hmm. Was this lady sentenced to death? Why all the public sentiment? She was sentenced to 5 years in prison for crying out loud! Not life in prison.

She should stop craving for sentiment and start working on her appeal. I wonder whether the sentiment of nigerians will help upturn the judgment given her.

hmm. Very touching. This is one big issue with Law, when it speaks ethics is put aside. At least your mum is still alive. Be hopeful on that and it shall be well.

It would have been a thing of celebration, if this sentence was melted out on those political looters. Let me see the children come here to write nonsense.

This young man is confused, your mum wasn't drunk and she wasn't driving recklessly, so how did she cause that accident? Manslaughter (if I'm right) has a punishment, it shouldn't be padded cos one is a celebrity, if she's sure of her innocence, she should move to the Supreme Court, it's that straightforward. All this public sympathy for folks in the upper class is becoming annoying tbh, same thing they've started for the LG guy.

The real victims here is the family of that Doctor that was killed any attempt to disrupt this is just pure self centeredness and insensitivity.

Young man.

In as much as I feel for you and your mum, but all the religious beliefs have one thing in common. Law of karma. Whatever you sow, same shall you reap.

Your mum recklessly drove and caused the death of another, who happens to be a father of young children like you. The kids too needs prayers that God should send them helpers to take care of them.

Which prayer would God answer? Ibinabo was busy partying last week Saturday at the 2016 AMVCA, as if there's no tomorrow. The kids whose father was killed by her were watching and waiting for justice. The justice finally came and you want us to pray for your mum?

We shall pray for her that she sees God's grace in prison and also pray for the bereaved

This is becoming too sensationalised for my liking.

If she behaves well whilst serving her sentence, she may be released early.

For now, she should get to jail already
