The minister for culture and information, Lai Mohammed today cleared the air on the APC 5000 Naira welfare scheme. He stated this today on the Channelstv Sunrise daily. He stated that the Presiden had shelved the plan, and had decided to put the money meant for the execution of the project to other more important areas. These were his points

* The president's argument is superior, and he is right to allocate the money for other developmental projects
* The President will invest in a robust Budget stimulus spending which will be geared towards, the less vulnerable, artisans, old, and maybe unemployed. This, according, to the minister, will help to kick start the economy
* There is confusion, in the media about the money budgeted and what it is really budgeted for
* The media took the words of the ruling party out of context
This should help to put to rest the debate, on if the government still intends to continue with their CAMPAIGN promise
