Because the successive useless Nigerian governments have made it so based on the notion that "Abuja is in the North and so only a Northerner can be the FCT minister".

It is something I have noticed as well.

I thought it was created as a nuetral capital? If it is going to be monopolised then it should be by the local indigenes (Gwaris), not northerners.

Abuja is a federal capital territory and so everybody from Igbos, yorubas and hausa should be given a chance to govern.

mikeansy, your post is disappointing. One would have thought by now, you would have understood that when Dede1's post  is not overly complex and doesn't require the consultation of dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other research materials, it would have to contain some sort of sarcasm.

Rumours has it that Dede1 is Ojukwu himself.  Read between the lines, he knows too much.

@OP,  a more appropriate question should be "Who appoints ministers and were the appointments in violation of any law or constitutional provision?"

Wherever there is money and contracts, you get "federal character".
