This is the kind of topical issue one would expect articles be based on! cool

The elites bastardized the educational standards, sent their kids abroad & they turned to SPECIALISTS.. meanwhile children of the poor with better grades & competence are "advised" to go into farming & not depend on white collar Jobs!!

Atiku has a million companies but still had his daughter take food out the mouth of 11 people, ( 1 direct employee+ 10 dependants) likewise Ibe Kachikwu that is well positioned to get his son a job in the private sector!!

These elites are "united" now & will only be "divided" when the time to exploit our differences for their selfish motives crop up!!

Youths of Naija won't create # about this, the commonsense senator will pretend to be in coma but will suddenly come alive when it's to do with destructive & profitless politicking!!

you made alot of sense. By the way Ben bruce already condemned it. You guys should be easy on Ben, he may not be perfect but he is the best senator we have had. Take it or leave it, his voice has done alot of good on a number of issues e.g the #freeEse, #BuyNaijaGrowTheNaira. I don't know what my own senators have ever achieved and I don't even know how to reach them, I envy bayelsa East senatorial district.

He said they filled spaces for states that needed balancing at the CBN to satisfy federal character so I wonder must it be the children of those people mentioned?
Well, since people like Atiku Abubakar are richer than some states put together, they amount to "state".

Do you read at all?

Can't you see the recruitment process was between 2014 and 2015. GEJ rot is what we are still suffering from. His cluelessness and wickedness did more damage than we can envisage. Next time, think before commenting, just to garner cheap likes on this forum.

Did you see the names of the 909? If you did see it, you wont have asked Buhari to sack them.

Many of them are Buhari brothers & sisters.
Many are children of his close friends & members of his government.

Many are children, brothers & sisters of TOP members of APC...

Thats why he cannot sack them. Buhari does not have such BALLS... grin

And the beneficiaries of this targeted recruitment of specialist are children of Atiku, IGP, Dambazau and other influential politicians. The children of people without political influence are not specialist and can't work in CBN. The CBN director of communication must think Nigerians are stupid. This cheap attempt at damage control is arrant nonsense and dead on arrival.

The CBN spokesman said they applied for a waiver from the FCC, and then also mentioned that the recruitment also took care of some states that did not meet their quota. Is that not a paradox? Why apply for a waiver when part of the reason for the recruitment was to correct a quota imbalance? Unless the goal was to pick specific individuals.

Bro, they have nothing to say. They only attempted to divert everyone's attention by mentioning 2014/2015 recruitment in order to shift blames to the past administration

The Central Bank of Nigeria has said it opted for a secret process of hiring new staff in the past two years because the bank was doing “targeted recruitment”.
The apex bank is at the centre of a recruitment scandal exposed by two newspapers.

A news report published Wednesday by Daily Trust, said the CBN secretly recruited 909 staff between June 2014 and February 2015, in violation of due process and federal character principles.

The report followed a news story by news website, SaharaReporters, on Tuesday, showing how children and relatives of some influential Nigerians, including a nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari, were dubiously and secretly hired by the CBN.

The CBN’s acting Director of Corporate Communications, Isaac Okorafor, told PREMIUM TIMES that the bank did nothing illegal or wrong in hiring without advertising.

“In the last two years, we have had cause to recruit specialists, and what the law says is that if we are going for that kind of recruitment we should apply for waiver, so that we can do targeted recruitment,” Mr. Okoroafor said.

He said the bank obtained waiver from the Federal Character Commission.

“The other issue is that there are states that are not well represented (in the CBN), and in this case we focus on those states to recruits people of certain classes that we used to cover the shortfall in those states,” Mr. Okoroafor said.

Mr. Okoroafor however said he was not ready to confirm or deny the names on the list.

“Is there any qualified Nigerian who does not have the right to work in the CBN?” he asked.

This is a bad mouth. Emefiele and SLS should be investigated and their connection with jaiz Islamic Bank ascertained. Emefiele should be replaced immediately with Kemi Adeosun as Governor of Central Bank. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala should be brought in as Minister of Finance. We are talking about Nigeria economy and not Fulani herdsmen's economy. The 36 state Governors attending economic conference with the VP should insist on these changes.
