This is a seizure report from Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service... 1. On 7th of March 2016, a DAF 85 Truck with reg. no. LSR 933 XB was intercepted along Osogbo axis coveying 400 (50kg) bags of smuggled rice and 290 (25 ltrs) of vegetable oil. 2. On 18th March 2016, a Toyota Dyna Truck suspected to have been smuggled into the country without payment of duty was impounded along Fiditi, Oyo State. 3. On 20th & 21st March 2016, 50 (50kg) bags of smuggled rice were intercepted along Ighoho/Adafila and Igbeti axis respectively. 4. A Volvo Truck with reg. no. KWL 777 AH conveying used tyres and other uncustoms goods was also intercepted The Command has made total of 30 detentions and 10 seizures so far in the month of March with a Duty Paid Value of N19,744,965. 10,000 pensionable jobs up for grabs in the next couple of weeks. N350b to be injected into the economy within the next 3 months,mostly to finance capital projects. About $200b, that is about N40tr the equivalent of about 8 years national budget; being stolen funds by corrupt government official to be returned back to government coffers soon.
