The Overcast I always anticipate rain – well, almost always, it doesn’t do to get all drenched when I’m out and far from home without an umbrella! Still, whenever I see these grey clouds that carry the promise of nature’s shower, I feel this rush of expectation all the way to when the first, tiny drops make their way down to make sweet music on the roof – or on my head. It’s simply beautiful. https://greysweaterdude./2016/04/04/the-overcast/ 3 Likes

Nights Will Guide You Home There’s this feeling I get almost every time I see these lights. For me, they are not just illumination. They are also direction, pointing me homeward, guiding me to my place of rest for the night. And the sidewalk seems to work in agreement with them, stretching all the way, lit up with the promise of relief from a day’s worth of stress. These lights don’t just light up the road. They light me up inside as well. https://greysweaterdude./2016/04/04/nights-will-guide-you-home/ 1 Like

Brilliant. Ahhh, the sun. Equal parts supporter of life, equal parts torturer of exposed bodies. I’ve always been fascinated with what the sun would look like up close, seeing it in all the glory of it’s majestic brilliance. Since that can’t happen any time soon – at least without being roasted to oblivion, I’m resorting to the next best thing, taking pictures of the sun when it’s not playing hide-and-seek behind a canopy of clouds. It’s brilliant….. And it burns!!! https://greysweaterdude./2016/04/05/brilliant/ 2 Likes

Lights Of The City Nights. I’m not sure what inspired me to take a picture of this scene, the twin buildings – which are amazing in their own right – or the illumination coming from within and around them. They’re the kind of lights that are simply pleasant to look upon in the night city skyline, the lights that tell you there’s life going on around you. They seem to just burst forth from the midst of a sea of darkness and remind one that yes, the city is still very much alive. https://greysweaterdude./2016/04/05/lights-of-the-city-nights/ 2 Likes

So for the past few days I've not posted anything on here. That's because I've been down with a minor fever. I'm all good now so I'll be back to regular posting duty, hehe. 1 Like |

Off To Find Fuel I spotted this young man on a bicycle just as he was setting out in search of what has become the most precious commodity in the country today. And it made me realize that all around me, people were embarking on the very same search – the man in the background with an equally large keg, even the little girl further down was lugging a keg of her own. We always say the hustle is real in this country but now, the reality is hustle. https://greysweaterdude./2016/04/07/off-to-find-fuel/ 2 Likes

Shadows In The Sand Streetlights cast some of the best shadows. Each time I walk home, I play a little game with my shadow (I know, I really shouldn’t be doing that at my age, but it’s fun!). I watch my shadows lengthen as I walk further away from a street light and watch it fade as I walk closer to one and I try to figure out at what point the shadow is longest and sharpest and what patterns I can make out in my shadow. This picture was one of such points. It’s a fun game. You should try it sometime. https://greysweaterdude./2016/04/07/shadow-in-the-sand/ 2 Likes

Light Curtains, Dark Rooms The contrast was just perfect for a shot. I really wanted to take a shot of outside from the window but I was too lazy to get up from the bed, hehe. Still I loved what I could see. https://greysweaterdude./2016/04/11/light-curtains-dark-rooms/ 1 Like

Suya Nights Ahhh, suya. Who doesn’t love well flavored grilled meat made on the roadside by men who seem to be well versed in the art. This man was certainly a master of his art and watching him go about his business was certainly a wonder. Fun to watch. https://greysweaterdude./2016/04/11/suya-nights/ 1 Like

Twilight Fades To Night. A lot of times, night seems to just pounce like a cat on a ball of string. Sometimes it feels like I just blink and voila! It’s night already. But then there are times it seems to creep in slowly, gradually. Those times you get see day and night in the sky at the same time. You see the moon in the sky just as the sun is sinking in the horizon with a brilliant yellow, orange and red glow, casting shadows and creating silhouettes of everything around. I wish this happened a bit more frequently because it is well, and truly, beautiful. https://greysweaterdude./2016/04/15/twilight-fades-to-night/ 1 Like

Sleek And Shabby It’s rather difficult to properly highlight the differences between classes in just one, on-the-spur-of-the-moment picture. This picture (lucky take by me, in my opinion) seems to properly highlight that difference, the shiny smoothness of the posh G-Wagon in the background and the shabby roughness of the dance bus in the fire and, stuck between them, a young man’s reality of where he is and where he would clearly rather be. It’s saddening but it’s all so real. It’s the story of the daily struggle. https://greysweaterdude./2016/05/15/sleek-and-shabby/ 1 Like
