edi287: You could add to that list Batshuayi a player unable to get a look in at Chelsea but ripped the Bundesliga. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Karlovich: 4:01pm On Jan 12, 2021 |
Subzero047:To the first question you asked, my answer is yes. To your second question, well it depends on what Rohr wants. If I ask you to list the players we have at the required level you can't name them, the ones you listed haven't done exceptionally this season in their leagues. Mind you there is no such thing as experimenting in football, at some point players will make their debut for teams and if they are good they are retained if not they stop getting call ups. Nwakaeme and Simy all played for Nigeria at some point and we all followed the abuse they got due to their performances on the field of play. The SE have a lot of work to do in the striking department, it's not enough for Rohr to list Chukwueze, Musa, Ejuke, Iwobi, Simon, Kalu as forwards on his call ups whereas they are not. So saying that a striker who is doing well in Belgium shouldn't be considered is not a good thing. 1 Like |

Karlovich: Well there is a required level and the bar is moving higher and higher, at a certain time 15+ goals in the Dutch league would have gotten you a first team Striker or performing credibly in France or Turkey but it hasn't even gotten Cyriel Dessers, Maja and Nwakaeme 2 caps each So you would be deceiving yourself if you think there is a no bar for SE invitation or that Ugbo has gotten anywhere near it 1 Like |

12large1: In uefa golden shoe rankings a player with 30 league goals have a better point than an epl Laliga seria A player with 10 goals Stop saying nonsense just because you wanna diss onauchu Bundesliga to you is a farmers league because you know nothing about football Bundesliga to the real football world is not a farmers league ,your opinion will not be needed in uefa leagues ratings Thank you 3 Likes |

Subzero047:Lol, okay based on your required level assessment suggest the strikers that should be called up? List their names because the 3 (Maja, Dessers, Nwakaeme) you mentioned have 10 league goals combined together this season 1 Like |

andrewbaba44:Imagine, they are talking as if we are Germany, Spain or France national team that have luxury of quality strikers at our disposal. Worst part is the assumption that we don't need certain players whereas we all saw our last 4 games and the level of complaints after those games. 2 Likes |

Karlovich: Osimhen, Onuachu, Iheanacho, Dessers, Maja are the regulars, Ugbo would do more than score 10 goals in the Belgian league to displace any of those |

komekn: Ripped bundesliga with 7 goals in 10 games then he did quite well at crystal palace with 5 goals in 11 games which is just a little different from bvb stats Bats is not a Chelsea flop ,was never first choice or even starting games ,he is still in the epl for a good reason If there is anywhere batshuayi flopped it’s at Laliga |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Karlovich: 5:32pm On Jan 12, 2021 |
Subzero047:Iheanacho 0 goals in 8 games this season Maja 2 goals in 17 games this season Dessers 4 goals in 15 matches Onuachu 19 goals in 19 matches Osimhen 2 goals in 6 matches Ugbo 10 goals in 17 matches Ugbo is clearly doing better than Maja, Iheanacho and Dessers even Osimhen at the moment based on the above stats. If for instance 4 strikers are called up to the eagles I don't see a reason why he shouldn't be in contention for a place in the team. 1 Like |

Subzero047: One of the issues l have raised continously is our DOUBLE STANDARD. What was the bar when, Nwakali( both brothers) Osimhen, Iwobi, Chukwueze, KC, Maja, etc were first invited to the SE? ❓ You are changing the goal posts in the middle of the game. 2 Likes |

Karlovich: Do you consider league difficulty? What has Ugbo done that Onyekuru, Nwakaeme, Dessers, Umar has not done, did it get them SE callups? There is a reason Rohr draws a line at certain leagues, you can't score ten goals at Afghanistan league at be expecting a callup |

BascoVanVeli:Maybe we should try aguda in the amf position during one of these friendly matches and see what he can do. I'm not sure the super eagles needs anaemena, we have a lot of options at the CB postion, even rohr sef confuse sotey he dey play CB for RB |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Karlovich: 6:19pm On Jan 12, 2021 |
Subzero047:Actually Onyekuru got call up to the national team, currently his career is not progressing in France. Dessers and Nwakaeme also got a call up to the national team based on their performances for their clubsides. Umar so far hasn't been called up as well but should also be in contention for a place. The Belgian league is not in Afghanistan so I don't see what the issue is. Calling up inactive or non performing players simply because they play England, Spain, Italy, France or Germany league is not good especially if you have equally good ones in decent leagues like Netherlands, Belgium or Portugal. |
