No bro, I am not worried, if he turns out for Nigeria, he is gonna be a 4th or 5th choice striker at most. Dude doesn't offer more than Moffi, and he definitely isn't as good as Osimhen, Nacho, Nwankwo and Maja. If he was good enough, he wouldn't be headed for the Jupiler league in his prime. Quality wise, he is in the same category as Onuachu, Moffi, Sadiq and co.

Let's see who does better between him and Arokodare in the Jupiler league, should Aroko join Anderletch as predicted in the media.

Dude is Nigeria's most complete striker. Better than Osimhen not to mention the others.

If he decides to switch allegiance, I'd be gutted but we'll survive.
Rohr is extremely faithful to proven players just as Onyekuru stated, and we have so many good, not better, but younger strikers.

So it's easier to break into Red Devils than the Super Eagles.

No wonder he moved to Genk from Az Alkmaar

He is the best striker since Ronaldo Da lima

I agree wholly with all you just said.

From another angle, away from a parked bus situation, but in a break away move/counter, Another example of what an Iheanacho-Osimhen two-man attack could accomplish is seen in this clip below with Awoniyi breaking away on a run off an intelligent Nacho pass, dragging the opponent's defenders with him to a side and laying it off beautifully for an incoming Nacho running into that attacking midfield area and placing the shot beyond the keeper..

Check from 0:50...

This is something that can be taken advantage of in the current Super Eagles set-up as we have seen and are bound to see same scenarios play out as seen in the U-17 video above.

Osimhen does get into such positions drawing defenders with him and cutting it back into the central attacking midfield areas for a strike from an incoming teammate.

He did it against Ukraine but the likes of Iwobi and Kalu didn't take good advantage of it. Imagine if that was an Iheanacho. That's more than a likely a goal from such positions.

See example below...

1. Check from 4:15 till 4:35

And

2. Check at 6:04

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2s9kUKzaZo

So in a two-man attack system, we could definitely hurt teams in various ways both in parked bus scenarios using the cut-back pass approach and in counter scenarios when we catch them out a bit. Iheanacho and Osimhen would surely be round pegs in round holes in such set-up. I concur madly. wink

TheGoodJoe:

That is why I am beginning to favour a two striker system. One dare devil predator of the box and wide areas (Osimhen) and one free roaming forwards that will occupy the attack midfield area during attack while making dashing runs to space. In a compact situation, he should drop deep and make curling shots.

Nacho operated this way in the U17 against Mexico in the first leg. That particular game is a thorough textbook study of how Nacho should operate if Rohr favours a two striker system.

While Osimhen gets the defenders busy with rampaging runs, Nacho needs to pick pockets of spaces in the attack midfield area.

Nacho is one who has this ability and showed it in the two games below. The one against Mexico in our first game in the U17 and in the game against Southampton while in Manchester City.

Excellent. Exactly why I had Ndidi in mind. His power shots can be an option when curlers don't get the chance. It's well.. I hope we can bring this into our plays more often in the Eagles and bring Ndidi into such shooting positions. It is important to stay unpredictable to the opponents and multiply the number of ways we can hurt teams going forward.

TheGoodJoe:

Ndidi power driving shots came to my mind. That is something Rodgers has not tried to harness.

When it concerns those driving shots, if the ball is cut back to the curling shooters, I see a deviation from wingers and forwards to curling shooters.

If the deep bus breaks to press to prevent the curling shot, there has to be a slight back or sideways pass to the driving shooter (Fabinho for example - Rodri also has it but not as accurate as Fabino), to lace a rocket.

This will in turn cause the parked bus to break to prevent loads of curling and driven shots.

That is where Ndidi needs to revive his shooting because if Nacho or other curlers are marked, then Ndidi's shots are needed.

Ndidi's driving shot against Club Brugge.

Aston villa have increased interest in Iheanacho. Rodgers who considers him surplus to requirements want to sell to fund purchase of Edouard, a player he managed at Celtic.

I think Aston Villa will struggle with relegation next season.

Former Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven goalscoring sensation Luc Nilis is of the opinion that Racing Genk summer acquisition Cyriel Dessers deserves a spot in the Belgium national team ahead of Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi and Crystal Palace's Christian Benteke.

Born to a Belgian father and Nigerian mother, Dessers qualifies to represent the two nations at international level.

The Nigerian Federation were thought to be in pole position for his services as he was called up for two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone in March 2020 but the matches were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The debate over the international future of the Belgian-Nigerian striker is back on again thanks to the brilliant form he has shown in pre-season, with a goal in each of his last three matches for Genk.

"I would always take you there, with all due respect for Benteke and Batshuayi, but you are more number nine than them. If you score, the national coach cannot get around you, Cyriel," Nilis told Het Belang van Limburg.

Dessers has said that his future would become clearer in the coming weeks when Super Eagles manger Gernot Rohr and his Belgian counterpart Roberto Martínez announce their rosters for the first FIFA window of the 2020-2021 season.

Coach Emmanuel Amuneke has crowned Victor Osimhen the big future of the Super Eagles after the striker completed his much-awaited transfer to Napoli.

Osimhen joined Napoli on a five-year contract with an option for another year on what is now believed to be more than 81 million Euros.

Amuneke lined up Osimhen at the 2015 U17 FIFA World Cup in Chile, where he finished record top scorer with 10 goals to attract interest from several top European clubs before he eventually signed for Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.

“He is now the future of Nigeria at only 22,” Amuneke told SCORENigeria

“His transfer is good for Nigeria and I wish him well.

“We are grateful to God for the opportunity to work with players like him.

“This also shows that you should do the needful regardless of what people will say and at the right time you will be in the right place.

“We worked professionally.”

The former Barcelona winger said he believes the Super Eagles will compete more favourably were other players to also step up to the big clubs in Europe.

“I also hope other players make it to the big stage, that will be how we can aspire to win something,” Amuneke said.

“For Nigeria to achieve anything meaningful, we need a strong team, which is not just about two or three players.

“We need top players in all departments as well as those on the bench. That way at any given time anyone can play.”
