Breaking 🚨🇳🇬

16 years old scoring sensation and Chelsea FC prodigy, Chizzy Ezenwata 🇳🇬, has officially received his first call-up to the Nigeria Flying Eagles U20 national team. He will join the squad in camp next week as preparations intensify for the FIFA U20 World Cup kicking off next month in Chile 🇨🇱.

Ezenwata previously represented England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 at the UEFA 🇪🇺 U17 European Championship qualifiers last year, where he scored twice on his debut for the Young Lions. Now, he has chosen to honour his Nigerian roots and dreams of proudly wearing the green badge at this year’s World Cup.

Eligible to represent Nigeria 🇳🇬 through his father and Cameroon 🇨🇲 through his mother, Chizzy has been in electric form. Last season, he recorded 16 goal contributions** in the U18 Premier League, and this pre-season he’s been shining for both Chelsea’s U21s and U18s netting twice against Stoke City U21s and adding another goal in a 3–0 win over Watford U18s.

The future looks bright for this remarkable young talent. Watchout 👀 for CHIZZY EZENWATA 💚🧨

That 1-1 loss sorry draw with Zimbabwe still hurts . Otherwise we would have been 2nd in that group with 9pts.

Can Chelle pull up the strings in the remaining four world cup qualifiers?

If that must happen, someone should tell him to ditch that his diamond approach ooo

Another thing is that I have also said we can have developmental programs with our national teams.

For instance the CHAN can be a long term project. Not one we just write list of players, stitch them together and hope all works out.

Making it a more grassroot program with long term scouting, training and development by a sound tactician. Then they participate in friendlies with local teams.

There should be a sound designated pitch for the project.

Something like this will take investment, planning and dedication. It will pay in the long run.

Unfortunately, we are run by people that are not passionate about football investment.
Systematic short or long term planning is not our forte. The black mind is not wired that way.

The issue now this true age boy will slug it out with him bro bro for Under 20 camp and do not be surprised he would be dropped. It happened to Sammy Ameobi....fact,our under age teams should be purely academical players, enough of NPFL players......if am Chelle I will give the boy 90 minutes subbed in cuz nobody knows tomorrow.

Massive take and full of insight.

I have talked about it before and will say it again. Our local football cannot move forward if we keep on working with the same terrible pitches.

That is where the first fix should take place. You can't play sound football on poor pitches.

This will enable more tactical players have the chance to develop their game and also standout.

Good pitches will give talented tactical coaches the room to excel in the league too.

Until then, we will continue this mediocre cycle of trying to force a cow to race as a horse.
I fear we are a long way off getting good infrastructure unless football administration becomes wholly a private enterprise

Very true. I think the NFF is involved in this recruitment and that of River Plate youth player, Jonathan Spiff Asuzu. They will do everything possible to get them selected, for future gain, just like Oliseh did with Iwobi

This is a big fat lie. After getting minutes against Saudi Arabia and Egypt for the Nigeria U20s, Sammy Ameobi realized England has listed him on a list for their U21s and he automatically made a U-turn on us and honored the call up from England U21s. I don't know why some of you like telling cheap lies just to exhonorate these craps from England.

In years to come, we would also hear someone saying same thing to make the likes of Tammy Abraham, Eze, Ibe etc blameless.

Just recently, we had the Dele Bashiru brothers; while Tom was selected, Fisayo (the younger one) was rightly dropped, but who among the two is a mainstay in the super eagles now?

Spiff, though a super quality player actually has no other option considering his skin color. Even if he was a Messi regen, he was never gonna be considered by Argentina.

I disagree, U-20 should be for young professionals, players who have spent a year or two playing top level football
