Estevaooooooo Willian! Brazil 1-0 up.
Brilliant goal. Surely I can't be the only one who see similarities and resemblance with Willian.

Haba I think say Simon ma Tiv?
No. Simon is Idoma. Amokachi is mixed. Idoma father and Tiv mum. Tiv people have given us the Kpakor brothers (Moses and Terfa) , Barnabas Imenger, Edward Anyakegh (Oman 95 u-17 tourney), Dominic Iorfa.

Francisca Ordega, the Falcon player is Tiv.

In the 90s BCC Lions and Lobi dominated in the Nigerian league.

But my people, nothing nothing. E dey pain me.

Well, I have to say we need to study what actually happened. The easiest route is to assume it just happened after a number of year of "developing". I think this is one area we need to improve on -- research and data.

Mujtahida:
Yes. Don't frame our need to develop as a decolonization program. Nobody's put a chain on us.

I remember very well how in the 90's, our airwaves was dominated by Tu Pac, Biggie, Snoop, Dre and in the early 2000s by Nas, Ja Rule, Cisco, Usher, Craig Davids, Shawn Paul, etc.

But now you hardly hear American music on the airwaves. Our music which had been developing since before Independence finally edged out foreign music. That's how to grow.

Practically these WC playoffs will serve as our friendlies whether we qualify or not

Toh, you and me know that we are poor in that area. I'm not assuming it just happened oo. I'm saying it did not happen because we wanted to decolonize our music. We kept at it - high life in the 50's through the 70s, Fela's Afro beat in the 70-90s, Reggae in the 80's, Afro juju, etc
We fused all these into the current musical output.

The reason why I tend to baulk at the idea of decolonization is because that makes us start from the premise that we are chained, held back and oppressed. That kind of thinking garners a lot of emotional appeal but I don't think it's helped us.

It's time to look at our issues with fresh eyes

Anyway back to football. You never drop your prediction. I see you are being cautious.

Senegal presses pretty well. Forced Ederson into an error but Iliman Ndiaye hit the upright with the goal wide open.

Brazil still up 2-0.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:24pm On Nov 15, 2025
Declonization for me is a psychological thing. When by default you assume anything foreign is better, then there is a problem.

As regards our music industry, I am in music myself so I know very well. when producing music became cheaper with the switch from analog to digital DAWs, or quality standard in production rose to match that of foreign music. This was the game changer. The Don Jazzy, TuFace, P-Square era. There were also other factors from the research I just made that aligned with this big factor I just mentioned. So go figure. Things just don't happen. You can't expect a similar thing happening to our football or other areas, if we are not deliberate wink

Brazil became less enticing to me when all of their upcoming players want to play like Neyma and Robinho 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

The only one I like is Rodrygo but I don’t know what’s up with him at Madrid.

I don’t rate them anymore

I know I get beef with am because of certain antics of his, but hmmm. I hope Okoye won't get jittery again if he has to step in.

Brazil no too get authentic samba boys again. Pep and his Tilitaka ideology don flush their jogo bonito down the drain. Vinicus still dey try but his attitude on the pitch overshadows his skills.

Okoye can start in the Egypt friendly. In fact I want him to start there, to see how far he's come in the NT.

But for the playoffs, omo, I'm not 100% on board with Okoye for now.
