Rohr Knows Nine Of His Starters Vs RSA : Picks Ezenwa In Team A, Undecided Over Leicester's Iheanacho Published: November 15, 2018 Rohr Knows Nine Of His Starters Vs RSA : Picks Ezenwa In Team A, Undecided Over Leicester's Iheanacho Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has already made up his mind on at least nine of the players that will be named in the starting line-up for Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Johannesburg, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report. The German football tactician intends to name majority of the players that started the wins against Libya last month in the match day five fixture vs Bafana Bafana. However, there is a little bit of confusion over who will be in between the pipes. Rohr initially named Chippa United's Daniel Akpeyi to be in goal for Team A before the start of Wednesday's practice game but changed his mind when the 11-a-side game started. The three goalkeepers in camp were being put through their paces by the goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu and Rohr reversed his decision after the drills. Ezenwa started for the Team A yesterday and in their last workout this morning, but Akpeyi went to join the Team A when they were practicing free-kicks. Although Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho played for Team B on Wednesday, he was the only player asked to swap teams in their final workout before flying to Johannesburg. It’s either Rohr does not like to give anything away or he is just clueless. The things he says are what laymen would say Starting Goalkeeper Narrowed Down To Two: Rohr Reveals Three Advantages Akpeyi Has Over Ezenwa Published: November 15, 2018 Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has given a hint as regards to who his likely choice will be for the goalkeeping department in Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa, with regular first choice goalie Francis Uzoho ruled out of the match due to injury. The German football tactician has mentioned three advantages Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has over Ikechukwu Ezenwa. Called up as a late replacement for the injured Uzoho, it appears Enyimba glovesman Theophilus Afelokhai has not been brought into the equation. ''There's competition between Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi. The advantage of Akpeyi is that he knows South Africa, he knows very well their players. It will be a home game for him,'' said Rohr to allnigeriasoccer.com. On Ezenwa, Rohr said : ''The advantage of Ezenwa is that he is in the group already, he played three matches in the World Cup qualifiers, decisive matches against Cameroon, he did very well and also in Algeria. ''We will see with the goalkeeper coaches what will be done. At the moment, the two are able to play''. The Super Eagles have conceded four goals in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers while their next opponents, South Africa, have posted four shutouts. Ifeanyi Emmanuel —ANS |

isan: I dont know if it is only me oo, though, it is still kinda early, buh me think Vinicius is all hype and nothing more. The few matches I have seen him play for Real Madrid, he didnt strike me as a top talent neither did he display any good football IQ. He is just there, nothing special. 1 Like |

All over this Window of friendlies, I see the Europeans serious with their u20s and u21 in very serious friendlies with American teams and I wonder what is happening to Africa. Not even Nigeria can just get serious for once and do something to ball with these guys before we start hearing the next Messi and Ronaldo from these teams? Nawa o. 3 Likes |

Numbers that should worry Bafana Bafana Bafana will have a big task to collect three points against a Nigerian side currently on a high in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. After losing their opening Group E match to Bafana in Uyo last year, Nigeria have bounced back in fine style and are top of the standings, and favourites to qualify as winners of the pool As the three-time AFCON winners prepare to take on Bafana at FNB Stadium on Saturday (15h00), KickOff.com looks at the numbers which should have Stuart Baxter and his players worried. 10 – Nigeria have scored 10 goals in four group matches, showing just how ruthless they can be if they are given freedom to do as they please. They are the second highest scoring team in the qualifiers behind Egypt, who have bagged 12 goals in Group J. 6 – Six of the 10 goals the Super Eagles have netted in the group were scored away from home. The Super Eagles were 3-0 winners against Seychelles in Vitoria two months ago and they had to dig deep to record a 3-2 victory over Libya in Sfax last month. 5 – The Super Eagles are lethal both in the first half and the second. They’ve scored five goals in the first and as many in the second period. 4 – Nigeria have proven to be very dangerous early in the game. They’ve scored four goals in the first 20 minutes of matches, which means Bafana need to be switched on from the word go. 3 – The West Africans are in red-hot form at the moment, winning three matches in a row. 36 - The Super Eagles average a goal every 36 minutes in the qualifiers. Bafana have not conceded a goal in the qualifiers and will have arguably their most difficult task to keep another clean sheet on Saturday. Article by: KICK OFF 2 Likes |

Akpeyi is likely to start. Hopefully, playing in familiar country will help him play calmly. Ezenwa is match rusty and Afelokhai does not have the trust of the national team handlers yet. 1 Like |

gamaliel9: We have continued to underrate the competition and importance of the U20/21 and we have continued to struggle at that age grade and this in turn has had its own negative effect in terms of churning out quality players for the Super Eagles. The Europeans do not joke with their U21 Teams. |
