1. Money
2. Connection to big powerful men in govt.
3. Willingness and ability to indulge in massive bribery and corruption.
4. More money.

If and when you have all the above, you can go ahead and contest for any position you like. Congratulations in advance. grin

Number one criteria including the above is that you must be chairman of a club..amature or professional...again if you do not have money...you can be sponsored by your state government....Amaju Pinnick was sponsored

Most times the state FA will be the chairman of the state owned club and all that takes is knowing the right people. This goes against the principles of FIFA but they let us get away with it and that further ruins our football.

I will call Iwobi after zaha but I hate to admit it

But to be sincere Iwobi has achieved more as he has played at the World Cup and zaha failed to make it to the World Cup

Zaha might have make England 2018 World Cup ,who knows ? But I don't trust southgate sha

I disagree with that approach it doesn't pursue merit as the overriding measurement for inclusion, it is way too NARROW. And unfortunately open too abuse, the story of Salisu is still fresh in many minds. In a country with high standards of probity and integrity this may be a good approach, however in Nigeria it will be fraught with problems.

It's what you do in your club and league week in and week out in terms of consistent continous top class outstanding performances that determines your quality not what you do in a training session or game for the U23.

Most top level teams will have players at U23 level who would have had at least 5/6 years of first team football. You will not see any academy players or B players in the U21 or U23.

Using that yardstick how many of our players in the U23 selection have had up to 3 years of first team continous consistent football ❓

Finally, with regards to Nigerian origin players who have already played for thier countries of abode or birth at U21 level will therefore be ineligible to play. That effectively excludes a huge ever growing quality pool of true youthful football talent.

You can say it cannot work but that is what Rohr and his crew have adopted.

We need to first harness the talents available to us before we start chasing after the foreign born Players most of whom are not even interested in playing for Nigeria.

We have seen Players progress from the previous Olympics teams to SE so who says we cannot harvest players from the Dream team to the SE?

Rohr and his crew may continue to chase those illusive foreign borns but they have done well in gathering those that are directly elligible to play for us and we give them kudos for that.

IMHO, anyone who has become a regular in the senior team should quit the cadet teams unless we wanna use them for the Olympic games proper.

O pari

The U23 is not a cadet team. Any SE player who is elligible and available should be invited. We need to maximize our potentials.

Why is Samuel Chukwueze still playing for the cadet team? The dude belongs in the Super Eagles already!

And by the way, is Azubuike Okechukwu still under 23? He too belongs in the Super Eagles team. Those two guys can walk into the starting 11 of the current SE team.

O pari

That U23 game against Libya is a lot more important than than the Seychelles game. Chukwueze and Azubuike are needed more in that game. Again the U23 is not cadet Football.

Once it is safe and secured, i will post the names.

I think we give these guys too much credit based on their past glories. I mean, somebody like Ighalo or Musa can have a fantastic game every now and then but the point is, as they age, those stellar games becomes rare and far between. I don't agree much with Pa Oni but I do agree with him that: at a stage, "if you refuse to leave football, football would leave you" grin

Forget their football age and take a look at where they play:
Mikel - from Chelsea to China, and now to the championship
Ighalo - from Watford to China
Musa - from Russia to Saudi Arabia

Trust me, you're are as good as the league/competition you play in grin

O pari

If you are good enough them you are old enough.

In reality there is nobody young or old who is currently better than Mikel.

If Pirlo can play for Juventus and Italy at 35+ or Arjen Robben, Danny Valdes, etc for the best clubs and for country then we have no basis to ask for the retirement of players that are still performing.

Currently all the supposedly youthful players we have are simply potential that is yet to be realised. Effectively young pretenders.

Being youthful can not and Will NEVER BE the sole criteria for a player to replace another.

Currently there is nobody better than Ighalo fact.
