Danielnino00:

Alaye talk true... Osimhen's mobility and positioning are better than Ighalo's ..
Like tbaba rightly said,Ighalo delivered the goals but he was largely inconsistent...He isn't a reliable striker... You can't play free flowing attacking football with a striker like Ighalo who keeps getting himself into positions where he is easily marked out..

For instance, that pass Iwobi gave to Chukwueze for the South Africa goal was actually meant for Ighalo..But he had himself surrounded by 3 South African defender. Maybe it was part of the tactic.. but if Chukwueze wasn't in the box at that time,it would have been a wasted pass..

We shouldn't use a 50 minuted game to judge Osimhen... Right now he is the best back up(or replacement) for Ighalo.. He should be given more game time in d next international window...
Agreed 100%

I really want Rohr gone, he is so outdated and the way he sets up his team reeks of cowardice. I want him gone so that this team can improve, since we already have the talents. But, since Pinnick says otherwise, I just gotta take solace in the fact that he might wanna finish what he has started already, by that I mean getting us uduokhai, Ademola, Tomori and Onomah. He has made the move already, lets hope he raps it up before he leaves.

Odion Ighalo and Rashid Yekini are the only Nigerian players to score 5 goals at an AFCON tournament..

Because Musa scored two goals at the world cup doesn't mean he should retain a starting shirt every time even when he is off form...

He was largely poor this tournament..

tbaba1234:

Against Cameroon, none of the goals were as a result of good movement.

Even when good balls come in, where is Ighalo positioned?? I can think of a few. Most times in Iwobi's cross against SA, where was Ighalo? Chukwueze had a few decent balls as well.

Overall, I do not want to be too critical. His positioning was good but movement left a lot to be desired.

So the balls just magically found his feet? With all our players in the box he still found space and gave Omeruo an option. Then he was even more open than Musa on his second and that was a timed run btw.

You must be mistaken. The cross is to be directed at the striker. You can't blame Ighalo for a bad cross.

Musa has never had a good Afcon, he was worse in 2013 with his blonde hair style. Keshi had to glue his ass on the bench

We are grateful to Mikel, Akpeyi and Ogu for their services over the years. It's time for them to bow out. Possibly Ezenwa as well. We may need to buy seat belt for Musa if he gets called up again.
Time to scout, learn and build -we need CBs, GKs and more midfielders.
Time for our league to get a look in.
I go vex for you o angry what do you you mean by Ezenwa possibly? It is surely o, Ezenwa must go he's old and not adding any value

The amount of work Musa put in for this AFCON will never be appreciated. He had to sacrificed himself for the good of the team. He did more defending than attacking. He was total rubbish attacking wise today sha.

Here's some new changes CAF have made to Africa's football ..
1) The CAF CL final will no longer be home/away but at a neutral venue
2) the next AWCON will have 12 teams instead of the usual 8

And CAFCC too. Brilliant Idea if you ask me. It stops the nonsense the Northies bring to the table. Hopefully CAF does its homework before awarding the final's stadium since Clubs in Africa & especially outside their home country pull little followership

For those of you wondering what’s next, the CAF nations league will start shortly. As a matter of fact, the first set of matches will occur in the beginning of Sept.

Our Eagles are in League A. The winner of this league will face the winner of AFCON 2021 in a super cup match.

PS: League A countries may be subject to change based on rankings after AFCON 2019

Garba wants early World Cup preparation for Eaglets
July 13, 2019 7:16 am

Golden Eaglets coach Manu Garba has stated pleaded with the Nigeria Football Federation to give the team the needed preparation ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup holding in Brazil later in the year.

Garba said this in an exclusive chat with brila.net that all the team needs now is adequate and early preparations.
”We want the federation to give us everything to start preparations early and we should be camped in a country closer to Brazil,” Manu concluded.
The Golden Eaglets were drawn alongside Hungary, Australia, and Ecuador.

Ighalo should be above Kanu on all time highest goalscores for the SE.

If only age was on his side Mathematical's 23goals will be overtaken to make Ighalo 2nd.

Iwobi currently has 6goals.

If he scores averagely 4goals in a non afcon year and 7 in an afcon year, for the next 8years, i see him close to 34goals.

Wait o. Our Olympic Team itself can be gotten from these current SE19 players. Just add zacalla and maduka and a few oldies....

I think our hands are currently full.

Ride o, O Netherlands of Africa.

Keshi in terms of results, yes but many of his players disappeared.

I think Rohr will be leaving a better foundation that we will enjoy for years to come.

Look at Aina, Osimhen, Samu, Iwobi, Uzoho, Collins, Ekong, Ndidi.. plus the under 23 boys. The future is bright. Rohr might not even be the coach to reap the benefits
