I Can't Change My Screen Resolution After Installing Windows 8.1 by xerxesII: 1:27pm On Mar 30, 2016
I installed windows 8.1 64 bit. . . Since then I'm unable to ;

- change my screen resolution (the option is greyed out) its currently set to 1024*768 (recommended) I know my system can do better

- I'm unable to install netbeans since then(after the installer window, it just disappear and won't continue the installation)

- my gpu dedicated video memory was 64mb when it was running on win 7 but after win 8.1 happened. . .my gpu dedicated vid memory is 0mb!


All my programs are running with 32bit even tho I have a 64bit operating system angry

Pls help me

Are you sure the window 8.1 has been activated. If it has not you will keep getting the same result

You did not install your graphics driver. To fix this... Google your laptop model e.g. If it's hp elitebook 8460p just Google 'hp elitebook 8460p drivers and it will show you the official hp page to download your drivers. Once you download and install the graphics driver... You can now change your resolution.
Also it's recommended that before you reinstall or upgrade windows, you should back up your drivers. There are so many useful apps to than can do that in a mins eg doubledriver or you can back up your drivers manually. Always try and have your drivers backup on an external hard drive and also a system recovery image.

So basically, install your graphics driver and it will fix this.

Like the person above me suggested, drive your graphics.....
You can use driver pack 13 or 14... or go online
