There are reports that the Department of State Security(DSS) has arrested Khalid Albarnawi of Ansaru, an influential leader of Nigeria-based terror group Boko Haram. Borno-born journalist Ahmad Salkida made this known in a series of tweets. According to him, “Reports reaching me say, Nigeria’s apex security agency has recorded one of “its greatest feat in the war on terror.”The security source said, the DSS arrested Khalid Albarnawi of Ansaru, who is believed to have reconciled with the leader of ISWAP today. If true, the arrest of Barnawi is one of the biggest. He was picked up in Niger State, close to a security facility – Said the source.”

Khalid al-Barnawi, also known as Mohammed Usman, was reportedly a high-ranking member of Boko Haram. He has been reported to be a leader of Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis-Sudan, a Nigeria-based terrorist group more commonly known as Ansaru. The Department of State designated Khalid al-Barnawi a Specially Designated Global Terrorist under section 1(b) of Executive Order 13224 on June 21, 2012. Ansaru emerged as a faction of Boko Haram and announced its formation in early 2012. The group seeks to establish an Islamic caliphate in Nigeria. Ansaru has close ties to al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and has sought to target Westerners, including Americans.

Kudos To Nigerian security.

What jonathan couldn't achieve in 5 years, Ejiroghene Buhari is making it happen in less than one year.

Buhari might not have gotten it right all round but in the area of dealing with Boko haram, he has done well.

One thing i know is that if jonathan had Won, By now Boko haram would have spread to other parts of the country because he would have played politics with, shared the money meant for Arms and continue to bring perpertrators to book with mouth without action.

Sai Buhari
