ASUU IMSU CHAPTER TO CALL OFFSTRIKE BY NEXT WEEK NEGOTIATIONS ARE CURRENTLY ON GOING TO MODERATE THE JUST
RELEASED NEW TUITION FEES FOR NON INDEGENES, OWELLE RESISTS PRESSURE; INSIST ON FREE
EDUCATION TO INDIGENES.
Sequel to Students passionate appeal to the Executive governor
of Imo State, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha over the just released exorbitant tuition fee
for non indigenes and the
lingering Indefinite ASUU, NASU and SSANU strike, the Governor has been holding several
meetings with leadership of the aforementioned Unions to call off
the strike as soon as possible and as well reduce the new
tuition fee stipulated for non indigenes.
First class information reaching me earlier this morning revealed
that the State Governor bluntly refused to succumb to pressures
emanating from different groups which were calling on him to
withdraw his free education program for non indigenes as he
mandated the three Unions and management to draw a blue
print on how best to solve the current problem and still run the
free education for indigenes. Since then, the various Unions
and management have been holding several meetings
constantly because they have to meet back with the governor on
Monday 4/4/2016.

The Governor has therefore urged the Leadership of the
aforementioned Unions to call off the strike and resume work with
immediate effect promising to address all their issues. We
therefore urge all 100 level students to prepare for their first
semester examination coming up anytime soon.
