and Clifford Iroanya,
IPOB’s spokespersons,
Vincent Obetta’s services
were terminated as he
was no longer capable of
handling such high profile
matter.

Obetta was replaced by
Chief Chuks Muoma
(SAN).
“The Indigenous People
of Biafra (IPOB)
Worldwide for the
avoidance of doubt has
officially dropped Vincent
Obetta, who was the lead
solicitor in the defence
team representing the
leader of IPOB and
director of Radio Biafra,
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu over
the bogus charge of
treasonable felony
presently ongoing at the
Federal High Court in
Abuja.
“IPOB terminated the
services of Vincent
Obetta since January 19,
2016 on the grounds that
he is no longer capable
of handling such high
profile matter and
conduct unbecoming of a
professional legal
practitioner. dealing with him in
respect of this case and
any other case where
IPOB members are
concerned.
“We wish to place on
record that the lead
attorney in this case is
now Chief Chuks Muoma
(SAN) with Ifeanyi Ejiofor
as lead counsel to Mazi
“Therefore, we are
reminded to place
emphasis on this fact of
his disengagement and
the need to inform the
general public to stop
Nnamdi Kanu, the leader
of IPOB,” the statement
read in part.
IPOB urged the public to
direct every enquiry to
the chambers of Ejiofor
on behalf of the defence
team which presently
includes 17 lawyers.
The pro-Biafra group
warned that any person
or people dealing with
any other individual
claiming they are
representing Kanu other
than Muoma and Ejiofor
are doing so at their own
risk.
