Top Nigerian clergyman, Prophet Temitope Joshua has been
implicated in the leaked documents by a Panamanian law firm,
Mossack Fonseca.


According to Premium Times, TB Joshua, the general overseer
of the Synagogue Church of All Nations and his wife, Evelyn,
own Chillon Consultancy Limited, a company incorporated on
June 20, 2006 at the British Virgin Island (BVI).

The report shows that the pair own one ordinary share each,
although the company which has registration number
1033675, is authorized to issue a maximum “50,000 no par
value Shares of a single class.”

The businesses that were transacted with the shell company
having no physical presence in Tortola, the largest and most
inhabited island at the British Virgin Island, is yet unknown at
the time of filing this report.

Premium Times reports that Chillon Consultancy Limited uses
the office address of its registered agent, Mossack Fonseca
(Akara Bldg., 24 De Castro Street, Wickhams Cay 1, Road
Town, Tortola) as its ‘location’ in the British Virgin Island.
TB Joshua, popularly known for his many predictions and
prophecies, is the second Nigerian mega preacher known to
have offshore companies in tax havens.


Last year, Sahara Reporters claimed that the preacher who
owns Emmanuel tv, one of the most viewed Christian satellite
station, bought a Gulfstream G550 aircraft in April 2015.

The jet which was reportedly registered as “Synagogue Of
Nations,” was said to have been purchased using the Bank Of
Utah trustee as front.

Findings show that a Gulfstream G550 is sold for as much a $
45 million and could be maintained for nothing less than $3
million yearly.

Efforts to have the comments of the radical preacher respond
to the revelations proved futile as a person who reportedly
picked his phone when he was called last week said that he
was not available to take calls.

And the e-mail sent to them by Premium Times remained
unattended to as well.

TB Joshua is not the only prominent Nigerian involved in the
scandal as Senate president, Bukola Saraki; his predecessor,
David Mark, were also fingered in the leaks.

Both have since denied any involvement in the said revelation
by the law firm in Panama.

Can nigeria government be sensitive to serious issue

This Panama thing is not really an issue for private Nigerian citizens according to our laws. Nations calling out their leaders have laws that mandate their citizens to pay taxes on all income (including offshore incomes). Nigeria does not have a tax law mandating non-public office holding citizens to pay taxes offshore incomes.

Only public office holders are barred from operating offshore account or mandated to declare offshore interests when taking up public assignments.
