Different states have different POF requirements. Some require just a declaration, no evidence. Some require only evidence of a cash portion, and just a declaration of assets. Some require evidence of the entire amount in cash. From what I can see on the NT website, the POF is a total of your net assets. This can be cash, shares, property valuations etc. |

OmogeNG:Actually with 189,my points will be 60 bt with 489,my points is 65. Now which one gives me a better chance of getting ITA from NT. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 8:33am On Apr 24, 2016 |
Nisi: With 189, you don't need sponsorship from any state. It is independent skilled visa, if you meet up to 60 points, you can fill in the EOI immediately. |

bellong:Sorry, i mixed it up... My bad. I mean 190 all along. So with 190 i have 60 but with 489 it will be 65.Do i apply for both in my EOI to have better chance of ITA with NT Or do I Just do 190. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 11:52am On Apr 24, 2016 |
Nisi: You are better off with 190. However, if you have enough funds to pay for PR again, you can add 489. But I prefer you choose 190 |

Nisi: NT is known for giving 489 instead of 190 unless one has an offer letter from an employer there. 1 Like |

Nisi: NT is only able to sponsor 190 and 489...not 189. If you qualify for 189, go for it. If you don't, go for 190. 489 should be a last option. Also, NT is notorious for rejecting 190 applications, and offering 489 instead. This happens when they are not so sure you will stay the 2yrs. 2 Likes |

Hello dear e-family, Please for our Engineers in the house who have done their assessments with Engineers Australia, which of these payment options (between the first and second) did you choose? I'm a bit confused, does EA assess work experience? I've got 3+ yrs work experience and I read somewhere on the other thread that years of experience are being reduced to make up for the assessment. Does EA also do this reduction thing? Sorry for my plenty questions guys, I just don't want to make any mistakes.

You have to be prayerful and keep an open mind for the 489 visa. NT has a reputation of giving 489 Visa's to 190 applicants. Its a strategy to develop the territory. So even when you have applied for the 190 visa, try to manage your expectations. okpas12: |

Queenbeloveth: The occupation to choose is not what someone can help you with. Go through the two occupation lists and choose an occupation that is within your skill or closely related. Once you do that, we can help you with further questions. |

Good day to the house. Thanks for the help so far. I submitted EOI recently , but I noticed the occupation ceiling for engineering technologist is closed until July, which means I cnt b invited for visa application till den.however I learnt from someone that I can add 190subclass visa in my EOI alongside the 189 which is my preferred visa type. The person said the 190 is state nominated ,that even though the ceiling for the occupation is closed ,that state can nominate nonetheless instead of waiting till July. My question is that, does choosing both 189 and 190 v any implications. And which of the two subclass is much advisable. @bellong and oda dons in the house, ur advice is needed. Thanks buddies. |

akinnawou: States can sponsor you at any time, as long as their quota hasn't been exhausted. 190 visas are not subject to occupation ceilings. 189 is better, as it allows you live anywhere from the get go. 190 requires a 2yr committment. No implications from choosing both. Just that if 190 invites you first, your skill select will be locked and unavailable for 189. |

kaykourage: You have to check for any other occupation closely related to it. What did you study in school? Queenbeloveth: You can look up the website of the assessing authority and follow the instructions and requirements for assessment. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by OmogeNG: 9:08am On Apr 27, 2016 |
akinnawou: Usually, you apply for state nomination seperately. But once you apply and are granted, yet choose not to go ahead to lodge the visa app,, your profile will be locked for a while...usually 60 days. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by OmogeNG: 9:13am On Apr 27, 2016 |
ausi4me: Just follow the guidelines on the website. Applicants with degrees from Nigerian unis are unable to upload their transcript. The uni has to forward it. Originals are fine. Bank statements is not a must. They may or may not ask. Payslips alone are just fine, but you can add bank statements if you want. It is better if your evidence of pay shows your first ever pay, a couple in the middle, and your most recent pay. 1 Like 2 Shares |
