In the past, criminal cases, particulary those involving politically exposed persons could linger for years and to eternity without any judgement, but now, it is argued that the new criminal justice act (Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015) has provided for speedy trial, removed technicalities and specific numbers of adjournment and quick dispersal of such criminal cases. Can the learned men(lawyers) in Nairaland give us and enlighten us with the vital ingredients in the new law, including if the law has provided for the maximum time frame to try and deliver judgements on such cases?
