One constructive critic though....you mentioned the presence of policemen, but did not assign them any role or involvement in the chaotic situation, even when match was about to be lit to consume the Alhaji, it appear the policemen were not involved.

No shooting into the air, no intervention, no exhortation, no arrest, no intimidation, etc...in a typical Nigeria setting, if this were to play out, oga police will not sit by and watch.

I can see the subtle point the OP is trying to convey...This summarizes what the typical Nigerian confronts on a day to day bases, an epic example of OYO - On Your Own.

This also goes a long way to show the resilience of character, we all share as Nigerians; in that, we really do not need the government to function to be able to be productive as a society. We only need the availability of basic necessitates and we will just be fine. In some advance societies e.g. the USA, if the federal government shuts down for just a mere week, the society as a whole will feel the brute and many things with cascading effects will grind to a stop, but that will hardly happen in a resilient society like Nigeria.
