Lagos City Polytechnic is embarking on an unscrupulous mission of defrauding her students especially the Part-Time students.

A circular released by the school, addressed to both full-time and Part time students, mandate the students to pay a N20,050 "Jamb Regularisation" Fee. A further investigation revealed that the students are required to pay the fee into the school account.

Going by the information we gathered on the need for Jamb regularisation, (see info here: https://www.students.com.ng/jamb-regularization-no-admission-given-yet/ )

Part-time students have no business paying such fees. "The purpose of regularization is to ensure that JAMB have your current admission detail that tally with admission/registration record in the school that offered you admission. Without this also, you may not be mobilized for NYSC when the time comes." This clearly shows that the circular should never have included the Part-Time student. And even Full-time students that are expected to pay are limited, depending on the status/process of their getting admitted into the school system. Furthermore, in a situation where a full-time student is expected to regularize his/her admission processes; they are not required to pay into their schools account but to Jamb or through the use of Jamb website. in addition the required fee is about N4,000 and not the N20,000 being requested by LCP into her own account.

The students are using this medium to call on relevant government bodies, individuals, human right groups and NGOs to rescue them from this fraudulent mission that is being embarked upon by LCP.

LCP has threatened to prevent students who refuse to pay the fraudulent fee into the school account from writing exams.

We plead for help to end this impunity once and for all.

It's saddening what some of these schools subject their students to because they believe they don't have a choice anyway.
