For the second consecutive day, the Nigerian currency maintained a steady status against the dollar on the parallel market. This, our sources have revealed, may not be unconnected to the sudden rise in the price of crude oil to $47/barrel, the highest rate in 2016. Many observers had blamed the uncertainty surrounding the naira fall against the American currency on the inconsistent prices of crude oil. This has however, changed since the turn of the year as the naira has continued to firm up against the dollar.
