Lawmaker Slams Ortom Over Non- Performance by nelch05(m): 10:28am On May 02, 2016
Lawmaker slams Ortom over non- performance Member representing Otukpo/Akpa constituency at the Benue State House of Assembly, Egli Johnson Ahubi has slammed the governor of the state, Samuel Ortom for lacking direction and failing to embark on infrastructural development almost one year in office. “The APC government in the state led by Ortom lacks focus, it has no future plan, salaries are not paid. You watched the protest from Obi local government area recently on Channels television over fourteen months salary arrears. People are dying, people are being starved of their monthly salary.” Ahubi who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, told newsmen at his Otukpo residence yesterday that the apparent inertia in Ortom’s government has caused most of those who defected to APC to return to the PDP. “Those who defected to APC have seen that they have no direction and they are now coming back. Some of them were instrumental to the foundation of PDP, so there’s need for them to come back so that we can form a formidable opposition to enable us take over power in 2019. “The whole thing calls for serious concern for APC, those who voted for their change are now regretting, because they are in complete chain,” Ahubi said. The lawmaker said there will soon be a massive ceremony for those who are returning to PDP, stressing, “many of them have come to me, but, I’ve asked them to wait since more people would join them so that we don’t do it bit by bit.” Ahubi is confident that PDP will take over political power in the state in 2019 and as well win the coming local government election in the state going by the outcome of the senatorial rerun election between the former senate president, Senator David Mark and Daniel Onjeh which went in favour of the former. He believed the Tiv people will also take a cue from the Idoma people and vote for PDP candidates having seen that the APC leadership lacks focus. The lawmaker also lashed out at the so called political big wigs from the Benue South senatorial district who defected to the ruling party prior to the rerun election to sabotage the chances of the former senate president, saying the PDP will not waste time on them as they are the ones that destroyed the party. “The defection of most of them was a blessing for the PDP and we’ll not make any effort to return them. We’ll ensure that the young ones who feel the party has a future for them will remain,” he emphasised. Ahubi urged workers to brace up and free themselves from the bondage which the APC leadership has kept them under, stressing that under PDP things were better. On the wards congress conducted at the weekend, Ahubi said it was free and fair, devoid of imposition of candidates in his constituency, stating that those who were elected were those the people wanted to represent them. www.nmetblog.com/2016/05/lawmaker-slams-ortom-over-non.html?m=1

This is Atume's fault, he push Jime away and installed this man of God. But this man doesn't have a little pity for the masses, forgeting that civil service is the only source of income for the people. Even farming produce are not costly so it doesn't encourage people to go into it.

The blame should go to sen. Akume.

He brought in an effigy as governor.

We were really angry with PDP and were ready to vote any APC candidate.

Hon. Emmanuel Jime was our preferred candidate.
