The economic development is inversely proportional to the religious beliefs of the nations in the list.
So the reasonable inference is.....

I think we Africans are using prayers for the wrong reasons and hence the little or no result in our country , you will never see a white man praying for God to help him provide electricity , built roads etc , God has already provided these raw materials in abundance and he expects to work on these raw material NOT pray over and that's why he give us a brain , prayer is not a replacement for laziness ( prayer is meant or was designed to fellowship with the creator and get wisdom to apply to life )..and most Africans are blatantly wicked and lack love for their fellow black man ...for example , how can a country producing oil still experience fuel scarcity after 50 plus years of independence , this is not a prayer issue ,it is sheer wickedness ( and cannot blame the white this time around ), it is a common sense issue that we can resolved in a couple of days if we are serious but we will rather pray over it and laze around the street looking for a miracle ..life is not processedlike this
exactly my point, nigerians don't understand we should only pray to God for fellowship.... You can imagine a brain dead nigerian praying for God to give him a car, even his pastor would prey on his ignorance and ask him to sow a seed....nigerian pastors are preying on desperate people... There's no way oyedepo would have bought a private jet if he was in america, because their economyis good, and you can't give them that crappy message saying devil is after them... Youths of other top countries are changing their world and doing great things, research institutes, I heard of 3 young boys who are working on flying cars...no research institutes in nigeria, na church full everywere..... Brother we are still in 1960..

Am nt surprised dat none of d listed countries is among the most developed countries or super powers. The reason being dat religion has beclouded their sense of reasoning!
Hw can a country advance economically, technologically nd politically wen religion takes the place reasoning nd objectivity.
Most religious countries r among d least developed countries. .

Truth be told nigerians are very religious but few are Godly.

What's the meaning of being religious and godly. People are strongly convinced that there is or likely to be this higher power that's steering the affairs of the things in universe.

Even if they are not totally adhering to the tenets stipulated in the varieties of individual religious scribings, that doesn't make them less a believer. We remotely tend to act according to our beliefs and worldview.

If i should ask you who you really feel is a godly person, can you point to a single person?

So the study wasn't based on who will agree to stone his unruly child or who can be able to kill infidels for not believing in Islam.

am not so surprised.

because Karl Marx says "religion is an opiate of the people"

by extension, too much religion makes people to depend on God providence or miracle for economic development rather than thought out plans by humans. Religion limits people quest for solution of their problems, because religion will take any human problem as a will of God which is in reality it is false. How can God allow his people to suffer. No no no. Whitemen saw the nonentity of the religion in the affairs and stop it. but nigeria still give religion a dominant place in our life.

From the list one can see all developed countries are not in the list or in the bottom line. so religion is counter to development.

Notice how the people who started this nonsense have grown out of it..

Israel, Italy, Spain, UK

Meanwhile the people who followed suit are now claiming they know the will of god grin

Religion is a scam people! Stop being idiots..

One day you will look back and your worst regret will be how much time you spent praying to something that didn't exist.

It's interesting how this topic made a heading,I once had a debate with a Nigerian about this issue, but am sorry to say this,

The most unrighteous white person here is better than the most rightous Nigerian in Nigeria in character and in deeds.

Many Nigerians are only in it for their physical gains e.g miracles.

Its a city not a country, it doesnt have its own military, it doesnt have its own passport and other things a country owns. A Cardinal from Vatican city, Rome will still either carry an Italian passport nor another country's passport depending on where he is from.

Uhmmm, imagine all the developed countries take religion lightly. But check the africans countries, we top the chart yet we are backward in everything except this religion that has brought nothing to us except hatred to our fellow country brothers.

Check all the Top 9 countries in the chat, how many countries are free from war?

Did u guys observe what i observed,The Countries that are more religious on the chart table practise less human right and are the least developed and if i must add,the ones that are less religious are more God fearing and good hearted.
Think about it.
"God fearing" or use common sense instead of praying/tithing?
Re: Nigeria Is The 9th Most Religious Country In The World by GoldEnyong(m): 1:38pm On May 02, 2016
Only developing countries are too religious. Check the chat. Being religious has and will NEVER help any person, group or country.
It can only breed intolerance.
