Key ministers, who are members of the special committee raised by the Presidency to work with the National Assembly towards an acceptable budget, yesterday, continued in the waiting game. This is because the document was still not ready for Mr. President’s signature despite several assurances to that effect. In spite of several assurances that the National Assembly had completed work on the document as requested by the President, it was still not ready at 7p.m. yesterday.

Findings by Vanguard revealed that members of the National Assembly committee were hard put to remove most of the vexatious items as demanded by the President and restore the votes originally earmarked for other projects and services

According to impeccable sources the major problem with the budget was how to remove most of the ‘padding’ from the budget and get the money allocated to them into other uses. It was learned that some members were protective of their projects and were not too keen to get them, and the amount attached to them, off.

Yeye people!!!

Thinking they can use "hardship" to blackmail the executives into signing a budget that will be unimplementable....

They don't have any blame, it's the disunity and discordant tunes of Nigerians that they are playing on, until people take their destinies into their own hands and treat the eff ups, the vicious circle will remain...

Evil legislooters, Enemies of the Nation...

NASS should be scrapped. The advantage outweighs the disadvantage.

Somehow, I believe Winston Churchill was in part referring to this NASSS when he launched a scathing attack on Indian politicians of his time labelling them as
"charlatans, rascals, ruffians and scalawags of every stripe you can think of”...

They are way too distant from the lives and concerns of ordinary people!

I only feel pity for those who are hell bent on following lost souls along to hell, all borne out of hatred for a man who won fair and square!

Just one building with a handful of thieves holding the nation to ransom...The ones we call our representatives are hardly representing us except the kleptomaniacs and never do well among us...
