There is always something good in a bad situation.

Shouldn't this be a wake up call for lazy Nigerians to go into farming?

A sharp mind will make enquiries, purchase from remote villages, sell at N400/cup and make more money than those sitting in a cozy office for N50k/month salaries (assuming they are dutifully paid).

Na wa o! What sort of change?

A cup of Ogbon'lo (a major ingredient for cooking a very delicious Nigerian soup) use to sell for N200/cup as at early 2015.

Today, I was told N500/cup, - N600/cup in Benin... Had to shout "Sai bubu!".

Food is the cheapest thing worldwide... except in Nigeria now.

Where are we going in Nigeria?

Surprizing thing is Farmers and the unemployed youth can not respond to this market signal and start farming, and make lots of Naira selling their produce.

Having said that, Buhari is an Ass~hole

Nigerians have been playing the "Blame Game" Since 1465.
If the market-woman decides to increase the price of her locally produced foodstuff and blame it on fuel scarcity and cost of dollar, dullards will still blame Buhari.
Even the goats have followed suit.

Do you spend Naira to buy ogbono in the UK? We are talking about high food prices in Nigeria this one is converting pounds sterling to Naira. How many Britons eat ogbono, are people living in the UK complaining about not being able to feed. What is an imported delicacy in the UK got to do with topic of high food prices in Nigeria.

FYI there are Nigerians livin in the Uk, and there are Nigerians who export gari, ogbono, egusi and other delicacies to our brothers and sisters there, when u divide N3,000 by 450 to the pound you will get a cup of ogbono there for #6 pounds, that about N3000 here.

Compared to other parts of the world food is relatively affordable, here, its not regulated its not processed our food is in its most natural form.

If you say food is expensive in Nigeria, you must make a comparison with other countries.

Don just rant that Nigeria is the most expensive country to buy food without facts and figures. angry
