do you have the twrp recovery installed?.....if yes place custom ROM on the root of your sdcard,and then boot the phone into recovery(volume up + power button) keep both buttons pressed until you see the twrp screen.....when u`ve successfully done that let me know.

I did just like you said. Wiped system, cache, data, dalvik then tried to install but it have an error. I mean the L8 custom ROM. I have twrp v3. It'll say installing Android then show an error 'Updater process ended with signal: 9' error installing zip file

for those experiencing memory card unmounting after using ur phone(tecno l5) for a very long time its just a ROM(operating system) fault so if u know any thing about porting ROMs then u can port tecno boom j5 ROM to ur phone it has d same interface with l5 that it won't even be notice that its not d default rom. thats how I solved mine I would have posted the ROM but it is too big cos I didn't remove any thing from it its about 980mb in size and I'm just using Airtel 2g plan.

if u mean porting c9 ROM to l5 that I'm not sure because c9 has different screen resolution and graphics and d processor is also different from l5..nd there is no advantage apart frm fixing memory card force unmount problem

actually the memory card doesnt unmount it just becomes invisible in the phone but it can still be accessible when connected to PC . it comes back when u unmount and mount it back again any other custom ROM can fix it but d reason I mention boom j5 is because its d same user interface for those DAT doesn't like custom ROM and it has every thing in d original l5 rom and it is 98% bugless been using it for a week and no more memory card problem.

the last time I checked they told me that tecno has stopped producing it but some times I use to c it at some online shop like jumia and konga but very costly around 25 to 30k

If you guys is interested you can port so many rom to you devices.

Infinix hot 2(mt6580) has more than 10 customised rom now which you can port.
