as far as I remember their was no real cane in primary school but e plenty for secondary school. I for no chop cane at all if not for one yeye Mr soneye. The guy gave me 16. I couldn't sit for two weeks. I still dey look for am make i beat my own back. Buttee like me angry

Make I calculate am.

Primary school:
5 strokes per week for 39 weeks in a session (13wks per term) times 5 sessions (5*5*39) = 975 strokes.

Secondary school:
My secondary school na war...drills, blanket punishments involving flogging and all but I managed to escape many times but I still managed about 10 strokes per week times 39weeks in a session times 6 sessions (10*6*39) = 2340 strokes.

I would have received (2340+975) 3315 strokes over that period.

That's totally apart from the ones I received from my seniors in secondary school oo. Them no dey estimate that one. grin

I swear I no fit lie, only SS2 I go receive more than 400 strokes. If I say make i count from SS1 to ss3, I no even fit know the figure

My class teacher for ss2 dislike me die, every morning na cane I dey chop for say I no quick come class from football practice .E get one day wey e beat me 64 strokes, girls for class begin beg for me, this guy no answer o. I still dust am grin

Not to talk of noise makers list, stabbing class, many other reasons for cane.i can't even begin to count

In SS1 I started dating one of the finest girls in school that another teacher had an eye for. Apparently they told each other about me and all male teachers turned me to flagging bag. Any small thing, so far say I dey involved, e Don be for all parties involved.

Primary school, from primary 3 to 6 na die o. Na so so fight and football dey Make me chop cane. I remember when I go break one Indian girl teeth, oh boy. Them nearly use pankere re arrange my yansh oooooooo
Multiplication table mornings, Thursday and Tuesday na die oo. I must surely chop one or two pankere as reminder oooooooo, Kai. All those Ghanaian teachers wey go soak pankere inside water make e swell embarassed

Thanks for reminding me of my maths teacher Mr Zuberu. He alone gave me more than 400 strokes just simply because I always corrected him in his wrong calculations.

Yes...i tink mine was upto 600 strokes or more,cox my name was always in names of noise makers evn the day i missed skul,out prefect still wrote ma name,and each day ur name is there,its like 7-12 strokes,then in sss it increased to 13,and if i dont do assignment u recieve like 24.after recievin d 24,u will b too weak to du ur assignment,so u prepare for the next strokes of cane

Chai... I could remember vividly, one day after lesson period, we were told to keep silent throughout that period bcus dia was no teacher in our class. Everywhere was silent like a grave yard. Immediately i heard d closing bell, i just shouted not knowing dat Mr Akinyemi (best teacher dat can flog soul out of d body) was looking for scapegoat from afar. The man called me out n everywhere got silent n told me to lie down on d table. He promised dat he will gv me four strokes, chai.... Fortunately..... Guess what happened?

Though I was a fighter and I enjoyed going late to school that is some minutes past 7:30am and I was flogged almost everyday.I tell you,Those strokes has contributed to who I am today.I am always time conscious, Always conscious of my dressing (neat and smart in appearance) plus my temper don cool tanks to Flogging.......making Nigerian children think straight since 1906 grin

Ladies and gentlemen. How was life in primary and secondary school or how is school life if you are still there?
I attended a school where all the teachers had ''MASTERS DEGREE'' in flogging especially my secondary school.
So, coupled with my stubborness and teenage life.
I must have recieved up to 200 strokes of cane from my primary 1 till the day i left secondary school.
But some of my classmates would have recieved more than me. While some recieved lesser.

With sincerity I don't knw how much stroke of cane I received when I was in primary sch. But I only receive 8strokes of cane throughout my Secondary sch days. I was beaten twice in Jss1 n Ss3

I was mostly punished rather than caned in school. While in Primary school, I was many teachers pet, even when I beat people up (which is usually their fault though for trying to bully me), so I get off the hook fairly easily.
I'm most times punctual, do my assignments and don't score zero so I don't get caned often, unless collective cane . And the Sec school I attended most teachers believe once you are in SS 2, you are matured enough so punishment was mostly used unless you didn't respect yourself at all. And we take cane with swags ni, as long it's my palm, I don't allow any body beat me on my body. And anytime I see my mates are making noise or some people are fighting, I quickly excuse myself

back then when canes used to pile up under my dad's bed like firewood and I got 80 percent of it.

then I went to one hell of a boarding school where u can get beat up by up to 10 seniors at the same time. no be lie. we called it general lashing. that was the days of leather belts and tree branches.

400 ? I got more than that from my dad alone.

At School - No because in Primary school, one of the main reasons students were flogged was lateness and my mama was an earlier bird so I was not flogged Academically, I love school and I never lagged in assignments and tests, so that one, I pass
In secondary school, discipline was not demonstarted by the use of whip, so again, I pass.

Hey, I recall, in first secondary school, JSS1, the whole class was flogged for noise-making by the Guidance Counselor of that school, my mum!

Lolz, I'm sure your own cane must have been special.
I can't imagine my mum teaching me sha, although she doesn't believe in beating students, punishments and she is good at twisting one's ears ehn.

mine should not be more than 100, no teacher dare try raise a cane at me from ss1(3rd term) to ss3, I will just walk out. I know of some guys that should have like 500+ to their name in secondary school alone.
Bam, Chris & Jones of Newtrend, they fit beat the dead wake up, I no chop much though, Unity School Ikire(Boys only boarding) from senior in jss2 to principal, if you no sabi beat, you must be a dullard.
The highest number of strokes I had was from a senior, Lekan Fatunmbi(Subzero), 24strokes for fighting in jss1, while he was among the crew cheering us up to fight, we fought till we get tired, then start pleading that we are no more interested in fighting, so cane come follow.

hehehe.... the strokes I've gotten from dad will be running up to 23,000. Chai... Even more... Wire o,belt o,pankere o, hanger o, stick o,broom o.... My popsi beat me no be small... Everyday na beating... As in... I stubborn die before na. Imagine getting beat up with folded wire in the morning...you are forced to prostrate throughout thhe day without food on one spot (for an active kid like me...prostrating on a spot was hell for me)... Then in the evening, getting beat up like crazy before you can stand up.

But in school.... I hardly got beaten except during ''mass beating'' and most times, I'm always exempted.... All my teachers liked me.... Even then... No thug dared to touch me... When mr. Agbonmuseri is there to flog him up to 20strokes. Seems like every beating I escaped in school...i got hot home to get multiple fold from dad..... Popsi... Three gbosa for you o... Gbosa gbosa gbosa.

Omo mhen! my mama don cane me reach another country b4, but aside her wasn't really caned in skul was very good at evading punishment with my puppy eyes, but puppy eyes no dey chop my mama na soso cane mhen.
