The country home of Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya and the campaign office of House of Representatives member from Gaya, Abdullahi Muhmud have been burnt to ashes.

The youth numbering over 10, 000 initially staged a peaceful protest to the District Head’s house to protest the non fulfilment of campaign promises made to them by their elected members one year after.

But because no one was there to respond to them the protesters became violent and they consequently stormed Senator Gaya house and the campaign office of the House member and set them on fire.

Their elected members had promised to provide water, electricity and roads for them immediately they assumed office.

The youth leader, one Tanimu Sani Gaya, explained that before the elections they had sat down with the politicians and agreed that they would solve their problems of water, electricity and unemployment among them.

Police spokesman DSP Magaji Majiya confirmed that their men are still battling the protesting youth.
