It was people suffering from The Grandpa Complex who voted and got us into this mess. And many of such people are still in denial.

Get ready for another shocking prophecy from me. And it’s going to happen.

Expect The Raptors to increase VAT from 5% to 10% in a few weeks. You think they will ask your opinion? They will just do it, knowing that the millions they pay their e-rats on social media monthly will fight their media war for them.

After the VAT increase or even before, expect to pay a new tax which is tentatively called ‘communications tax’. It means for every call you make or receive or for just using your phone alone, the government will tax you as much as 10k monthly, depending on how much you recharge your airtime. The telco will factor it into your airtime and you will be paying that tax through your nose monthly. That’s in the works.

And for those who say the price of fuel will come down because of this removal of subsidy, know that the importation of fuel is dependent on the dollar. At N320 at the parallel market, you are paying N145 per litre abi? Good. Wait for it. Economists have said that it’s inevitable that the naira has to be devalued against the dollar. Inevitable. Which means sometime soon, naira might officially go up to N250 to N280 to the dollar.
When that happens, what do you think would be the effect at the parallel market? Guess right. As it happens, your fuel per litre will increase. Increase!

So be there screaming that you believe in your Grandpa. He’s having the time of his life; only there to rock life and enjoy what he has been dreaming of for the past thirty years. And you are there thinking he’s got a grip on your well being. No wahala.

More snakes will bite you people soon.

That happens when you have people who have lost touch with the reality of today, making decisions for the people of today. Not just in governance. This error produces the same result in every department of life.
