While one is lying that within 6 months, fuel price will crash down automatically, despite the subsidy removal, the other is lying that there is no subsidy at all.

Actually He is not lying. There is currently no Subsidy in Nigeria. Plaetton has explained it many times here in Nairaland.

Think about it, it is simple. A Government subsidies key commodities when prices are too high so that the population can afford. So if Oil sells for 150 naira internationally, the government may pay 80 and the population pays the other 70 naira. This was the case under GEJ.

However, since the prices of oil have dropped drastically, when the people pays the same 70 naira for Oil which sells at 40 naira, there is negative subsidy, meaning the government instead collects 30 naira.

If follows that there has been actually no "real" subsidy in Nigeria for some months. And subsidy removal is just a catchphrase for the population to fund Buhari's Budget.

In short, the guy is correct. There has been no subsidy for some time.
