Hi, I am 23 and a graduate of Business Administration from a reputable private school in Nigeria and am confused as to the career path to choose. I finished my service year(NYSC) April 14th, that is, last month. Am at a dilemma as to whether to go into Accounting as a profession or stick to management. Truth be told, back in school then I had to study twice as hard as l did for my other management courses to be able to make very good grades in my accounting courses as l had very high academic standards though l ended up graduating with a 2.1.
We stopped accounting courses in my 300 level, didn't exactly love them and saw them as a necessary evil. Pursuing an accounting career will mean working really really hard which l don't mind, definitely out of my comfort zone. I love Management but its so broad and am a little confused as to which area to go into as l want to specialize in a field that is relevant and indispensable. They are both great and interesting fields, they are in demand and seems to be lucrative but l need a defined direction. In need of very good advice(s), please help a sister out. Thanks.

Anyway, OP my advice is this.

The job market in the country is so saturated it takes a little more than doing what you love to succeed.

You have to go with what you're good at (how are you gonna know?, well you should ) that way you sky rocket your chances of surviving. Accounting and management IMO are quite distant. You need to sit down, probably take a pen and paper and weigh the pros, coins, strength, prospects at e tall.
