A pastor in Ondo escaped a lynching yesterday after he tried to make a crowd eat fetish items – Adeniyi Johnson insisted that passers by had to eat his wares in order to save his son – According to the church he is affiliated with, Johnson has a history of mental problems A man identified as Adeniyi Johnson, who is believe to be a pastor with a popular pentecostal church in Akure, the xapital of Ondo state, was arrested yesterday while hawking fried meat alongside some fetish items in a bag. The self acclaimed pastor was nabbed by local residents who were shocked when he allegedly produced meat and demanded the people around him eat with him, according to the Daily Post. When the fetish items were recovered from him, the local residents suggested instant judgement of jungle justice while others pleaded that he should be taken to the Deji’s palace to explain his mission with the meat. The pastor and his evil wares Johnson who said he had just been transferred to Ipogun branch of the church from Iju/Ita-ogbolu was saved from a lynching before he was whisked to the Deji of Akure’s palace where he was quizzed by the palace officials. At the palace, security agents fought hard to prevent an already converged crowd from lynching him as he recounted his mission in Yoruba while being quizzed by the palace chiefs . Johnson said he was divinely instructed to go and share the meat to save his dying son.
