The Pharisees were opponents of Christ not because of their belief system, but for what came from within them. Christ knew them for who they truly were. He said "Be careful," Jesus said to them. "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

The yeast of the Pharisees is narrow-minded religious exclusivism, it is sectarianism. A kind of bigotry in which one puts him/her – self above everyone else. Such attitude is not Christ like and must be demoted to the back burner. It is taking precedence within the church. Leaders are encouraging and promoting it. It is a kind of “I HAVE ARRIVED” mentality. It is deceptive. Believers must abhor it.

1 Corinthians 11:1
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

HUMILITY
The reason why we are alive is through divine mercy and the grace of God. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Be humble before God who did not give us what we truly deserved. Get rid of the pride within you.

INDEBTEDNESS
It is the grace of God that brought us through. Christ paid the price for our redemption by shedding his blood on the cross for us. We shall forever be indebted to him.

DEPENDENCE
By the grace of God, we are who we are. Without the grace of God, we are nothing. Our righteousness before God are like filthy rags. Thank God for Christ who has made us righteous in him. We need more of Christ and less of self.

CONVICTION
God is real, in charge and worthy of all honour, glory and praise. As long as we have this mind set, all is well.
