plaetton:. So if you know the fall in oil price precipitated our economy woes, then why are you hallucinating all over the place? You just chunk out your lies{not backed up with any proof} from wherever God's knows and you want everybody to swallow them. Learn to debate with facts and not with what your mind tells you. I asked you some pertinent questions in my previous post here and I can see how you have illogically avoided the questions. I'm sorry to say this; but my friend you are not intelligent neither are you smart. You know absolutely zinc. You are just like the average buhari hater who uses sentiment, bigotry and hate as his basis for intellectual argument. From your first Post on this thread to this one that I just quoted, I didn't see where you backed up your arguments with clear proofs. If you don't have anything to say aside from disproving other peoples opinions that are backed up with clear evidences, please you better shut up and stop fooling around here. Premium times quoted NOI in her own words and you are here busy saying she never said that. Then I ask you again, provide your own proof that NOI didn't say that and save us from all the unnecessary drama. And as for the questions I asked you on my previous post; I know you can't answer any one because the truth won't even let you do that. 5 Likes |

Maybe the guy thought he can override everybody with his garbage and lies, but I guess he quickly realized he wasn't engaging half baked literates, so he had to quickly back down. But you know, the silliest thing the guy did was countering you when you made some references to what NOI said. I couldn't even believe my eyes when the guy said premium times were lying. Facts on the economy shouldn't b taken just by a publication by a newspaper/tabloid, get it from more authenticated sources 2 Likes |

fiizznation: Ignorance is not a crime. Normally you, the OP and I would have no grounds for this exercise, if not for the people who come here to advertise their ignorance. The main problem I encounter here in Nairaland is that people have very very low comprehension skills, a deficit you have once again displayed. Pls go back and read the OP's posts, read my responses to each one, and then tell me where NOI contradicted anything that I have posted on this thread. I am saddened that after many pages , you still fail to comprehend what the bone of contention is here. How come it is always you Buhari supporters that are quick to make ethnic and tribal references when debating simple facts relating to economic management? OK. Let me give the OP the benefit of the doubt that he got a bit confused, and got mixed up on the figures of External DEBT and the figures of Total DEBT stock. If this is true , then all he has to do is to admit it, then case closed. His continued blabbering, despite being proved wrong, is what I find shocking, and also betrays ill motive on his part. There is nothing wrong with being an admirer or supporter of Buhari, but gosh, it shouldn't be a public religion, with all the irrationalities that come with it. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

OlujobaSamuel: Another problem with ignoring facts in favor of innuendos. Fact 1. She became a finance minister when Nigeria was heavily burdened with DEBT. Yes or not? Fact 2. She spearheaded the economic reform programs of OBJ. Yes or not. Fact 3. She was the point person in the negotiations with the London and Paris club of creditors. Yes or not ? Fact 4. They were successful in paying off and writing off Nigeria's $38b DEBT to the London and Paris club of creditors. Yes or not? Fact 5. Nigeria's economy greatly improved thereafter. Yes or not? Fact 6. She deserves credit for the aforementioned improvement in Nigeria's economic fundamentals. Yes or not? And so, your reluctance to give her due credit is based on what, sir? 8 Likes 1 Share |

Babacele: More than 100 petitions against Amaechi have been forwarded to the EFCC. I have seen copies of such petitions, marked " received " by EFCC, here on Nairaland. Aside from that , last October, CNN reported that Amaechi had $750 or so stashed in a named American bank. Has EFCC even questioned one single person to at least very the seriousness of such allegations ? So Wike should take Amaechi to court for allegedly stealing millions of dollars in Rivers State funds? This is clearly where you have displayed your dishonesty. Big laugh. So, where is the EFCC? Does the EFCC have no jurisdiction on economic crimes committed in Rivers State ? I now realize that you must be a juvenile , probably paid for image laundering of your savior god, Buhari. 7 Likes |

musachara: Please go back and read the posts carefully one by one. Pls kindly tell me any statements that I have made here for which FACTS are lacking. Remember, the bone of contention here is his deliberately false claim that Buhari inherited $63b in external DEBT. That , is the issue nin contention. I have provided the FACTS that Nigeria's external DEBT stood between $6.5 to $10b since 2008,_before GEJ became president, reaching it's peak during the 4th quarter of 2015, when Buhari was in power. These are the FACTS. So far, NO ONE has denied or refuted these plain FACTS. What else , what other facts exactly are you expecting from me. This is why I keep emphasizing on comprehension comprehension comprehension. 3 Likes |

koboko69: Here's Okonjo Iweala's assertion Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has refuted claims by VP-elect Yemi Osinbajo that the outgoing administration owes $60billion in local and foreign debts. Speaking with finance correspondents, Okonjo-Iweala said that the nation’s current debt stock stands at $63.7 billion and it encompasses domestic and multilateral loans by all the federal and state governments since 1960. She said various states of the federation accounted for 20% of the nation’s total debt stock. Of the $63.7 billion debt, the minister said $9.7 billion or 15% is external while $54 billion or 85 per cent represents domestic debt. She said between 2007 and 2011, a debt of $17.3 billion debt was recorded while between 2012 and 2015, the debt stood at $18.1 billion. plaetton:There is also nothing wrong with being a fan of NOI but that still doesn't mean one should sweep the truth under the carpet. Don't forget so soon that OBJ transferred NOI to the foreign affairs ministry from the finance ministry she was basically heading when he discovered how dubious she was even before she wisely resigned. The Paris club scandal which NOI was involved is still fresh in our minds. The $2billion saga is still in our heads. You come here defending NOI as if your life depends on it and at the same time you want to send buhari to Hades even before his time. If NOI was so good as you want us to believe, do you think OBJ would have transferred her to foreign affairs ministry when she was working with him. Have you even heard what soludo said about NOI? Did you think soludo was crazy when he accused her of running our economy aground? I seriously do respect Mrs NOI{may God bless her} but it has always been clear that her first interest is world bank and not Nigeria. My bro there are just too many scandals surrounding NOI which I will for another day. Two days ago, serap just accused her of not accounting for some monies. You can deny everything wrong with NOI and her archaic economic policies but can you deny her final warnings when she said "Nigerians should brace up for tougher times ahead". 3 Likes |

Obama inherited an American economy in bad shape. We didn't see him condemn Bush or use Bush as an alibi for his own incompetence, he tackled the problems he inherited from Bush administration head on, and today USA is in much better shape all round. If Nigeria were great, would there have been a need for a messiah Buhari to ride on people's ignorance and tribal bigotry to the presidential seat? Why is Buhari complaining about the same problems that made people to vote him to start with? If those problems weren't there, would there have been a need for a messiah which Buhari represents in the eyes of his deluded fans? A failure will always look to assign the reason for his continuous failure to everything and everyone else, but himself. 1 Like 1 Share |
