Former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, has been barred from seeking medical treatments abroad. According to Cable.ng, Okon Abang, justice of the federal high court in Abuja, rejected an application for leave to travel abroad for medical treatment filed by Metuh in the wake of his ill health. The justice stated further that the court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain such an application because Metuh had been ordered to deposit his international passport with the chief registrar of the high court. “This is not a case of sympathy, but a case of law.‎ This court has no jurisdiction to entertain this application,” he held. “The court is not Father Christmas to give to the defendant what it did not ask for. “The application lacks merit. It is accordingly dismissed. The court cannot set aside its decision,” the justice held. Additional reports to come in by Nnenna Ibe who was in court as at the time of filing this report.
