A Presidential handshake is a big deal. When you shake a President's hand under the full glare of cameras you're free to frame the photo and hang it on your wall as a memorable life event.

See photo of 5 times President Muhammadu Buhari's handshake went wrong:

1. We're not sure President Buhari really wanted to shake hands with the Dein of Agbor, Benjamin Ikechuku Keagborekuzi

2. Looks like the President was grabbing Pastor Adeboye's hand instead of shaking it

3. President Buhari wasn't really feeling President Boni Yayi of Benin Republic ,so, no handshake.

4. See how President Buhari kept his hands firmly by his sides as former President Obasanjo angled in for a Presidential handshake

5. The President wanted a handshake but those around him wanted something else

APC wasn't to blame. APC simply gambled on tribalism and won.

They understood Nigerians properly and by simply selecting peculiar tribal candidates, they won those areas.

The blame goes to the people who knew APC as a party was rotten and highly questionable yet supported the party.

For instance, Buhari was consecutively rejected in the SW when he ran with Okadigbo, was rejected in SW when he ran with umeezeoke, was rejected in SW when he ran with Bakare because, Bakare is not pure Yoruba but kwara. Buy the minute Buhari was paired with innocuous Osinbajo, and powered by tinubu, he became messiah.

Now, don't blame the SW people cause they're not alone in this tribal reasoning. Igbos would have done same.

The faultline is tribalism.

The country is better divided or allowed enduring fiscal federalism/regionalism as is practiced in USA and UK and other progressive nations

Although Igbos did reject Buhari when he contested with their highly revered sons.
That must in part explain his hate for Igbos. It also gives Igbos room to claim they're more altruistic in reasoning and less tribal.
