Nigerian Food items; How to source for foreign buyers
Nigeria is blessed with enough fertile soils. Over 90% of crops which cannot grow in other parts of the world can survive or be cultivated in Nigeria. Just as apple seeds cannot grow in Nigerian soil so is most Nigerian crops in other countries. Even if they do, their soil cannot provide the texture needed for best quality of the products. For example, palm kernel nuts from Akwa Ibom State is rated as the best quality in the world.
That’s why developed countries depend on Nigerian and other African countries to supply reasonable quantity of agriculture commodities for their domestic and industrial demands. Despite these abundant resources, unemployment rate is still high in Nigeria.
Even if you cannot cultivate, why can’t you do any of the following?
1.Export to buyers by yourself
2.Buy from local farmers or producers and supply to exporters
3.Turn your shop to a showroom for exporters and online buyers.Which means stock the shop with products from village markets for exporters. They wouldn’t like going to interior markets when they know they can get all the products they want in one place, which is your shop.
4.Start by supplying in small quantities to operators of restaurants or supermarkets in US, UK or China.
5. You may say you don’t have start up capital.That shouldn’t be a problem because I will show you how.

It may interest you to note that there are many foreign buyers looking for Nigerian products but they avoid doing business with Nigerians because of the following minor reasons;
1.You cannot supply enough quantity needed.
2.Poor attitude keeps them away from us.
3.The quality of our product is unacceptable not because of the product itself, but our processing and handling.
Buyers who know the quality value of Nigerian products can ignore the above 3 minor reasons and do business with you. ‘How?’ you may ask.
On quality; he knows from your profile that you are just a starter. So, he will like to buy to encourage you to supply more because at this time, he is considering quality not quantity he may find elsewhere.
On attitude; It’s left for you to prove that you are not like some Nigerian suppliers they know or hear about.
On quality; your samples or specifications will prove you right. Some will pay for cost of sending sample.
Above all, there are six MAJOR reasons you cannot find buyers locally or internationally. It’s very risky to ignore these major issues. They are the first things you MUST know before planning to venture into export business.
I will also reveal to you;
1.Where to get verified buyers. Not through Google, Facebook, Twitter or B2B.
2.Things you must do to get buyers with ease.
3.How to export or supply to local buyers without start-up capital.
4.How to obtain international loan for export business without collateral or upfront payment.
5.The best payment term you need from your buyer.
6.Documents you need to exchange with your buyer before closing deal.

What I will reveal to you is not for everybody. They are for serious intended or existing suppliers who will appreciate this effort by applying the information to touch lives.

We in Nigeria haven't even seen enough food to eat.

You're being so insensitive to what's on ground. That's what desperate scammers do.
