One Important Thing Missing In Buhari's Democracy Speech



President Mohammadu Buhari on Sunday, May 29 addressed Nigerians on his milestones in his one-year old administration.

Reading through the transcript of President Buhari's Democracy speech, he touched on Boko haram, IPOB, Niger Delta Militants , but there was no mention of Fulani herdsmen attacks.


In Global Terrorism Index, Boko Haram is ranked as the deadliest terrorism group in the world, follow by ISIS, AL-Shabab. Fulani herdsmen is rated fourth as one of the worst terrorist organisations in the world with its base in Nigeria.

That means Nigeria harbors two of the powerful terrorist organisations in the world. And the President is silent about it.

What could this mean for Nigeria?

Fulani herdsmen are dear to the president.

i was baffled as well when i went through the speech.


the omission of that very topic ruined the whole presidential speech.

the president and his chief of staff and who ever wrote that speech should be ashamed of themselves.

imagin something of that magnitude omitted from independence day speech.

Ur type is why i keep denouncing Nigeria as my country, so u believe agatu people after one year cant recognize the people who kept attacking them, the attack in nimbo community and the arrest that ensued were all hype..why dont u just say the president cant condemn his own like u said for Avengers.....

What do you really expect from Buhari? Fulani herdsmen are his apostles, empowered to carry out his ambition of Northernization of Nigeria

The guy that wrote it forgot-and there's no way the guy that read it can even think of it!

Although I am fully with Buhari, but I think he is really underestimating the Fulani scourge. He obviously has a soft spot for herdsmen, but he fails to realise that he is actually alienating many Nigerians by his inactions.
