The draws for the FIFA U-17 Womens' World Cup were held earlier today in Amman, Jordan. Nigeria's Flamingoes were placed in the group of death alongside Brazil, England, and former champions, Korea DPR.

The 16 teams were grouped as follows:

Group A: Jordan, Spain, Mexico, New Zealand

Group B: Venezuela, Germany, Cameroon, Canada

Group C: Nigeria, Brazil, England, Korea DPR (North Korea)

Group D: USA, Paraguay, Ghana, Japan.

The tournament runs from September 30 - October 21 in four Jordanian cities.

Well, tough is not the word but "hell", but in all I tip Nigeria to make it out this group.

Players like Rasheedat Ajibade in that Nigerian team make me believe in them.

It's true we have never crossed the quarters at the U-17 level in FIFA women tournaments but I feel this current side have the guts to make the semis if they can overcome this group.

It's true we have never crossed the quarters at the U-17 level in FIFA women tournaments but I feel this current side have the guts to make the semis if they can overcome this group.

And it will be even harder to advance beyond the quarters because the Flamingoes would likely face either the USA or Japan - 2 powerhouses at this level - at that stage. If they beat either nation at the q/finals, then they deserve to win the tournament.

It would be a just reward for them essentially playing 6 difficult games.

Group C is the easiest group there if you really know about women football. The only group of death i can see there is Group D with Japan & USA

Korea DPR easy? Brazil easy? You don't know what you are saying..... Lol.... Go check the history of this tournament since 2008 then come back and modify this statement of yours.

Nigeria's Flamingoes will very likely qualify but that group C is relatively strong.

Until I watch the U17 play, I cannot judge them. The only player I know very well is Rashidat Ajibade, she is very good, and a decent play maker. I watched the England U17 vs Japan, and if that team faces Nigeria, it will be quite easy. They play very physical, full of running gung ho.
Brazil and Korea I do not know, although Korea will be tricky but quite beatable.

U17 is all about stamina and techniques. If we can get a decent back 5, then we will go far.
