The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that 2 months into Buhari's tenure, 50,000 people lost their jobs in Abuja. Reno said Virgin Atlantic left Nigeria.......gerrahia mehn......ok, try and book a flight to Newyork from Lagos on Virgin Atlantic and see if anything happens. Airfrance is leaving, Qatar air is leaving, British airways are saying if FG policy is remain restrictive, they too will leave.....

Everybody simply says, 16years of PDP, Oil isn't selling like before, treasury is empty, Nigeria is broke.......but according to the same NBS.......For much of 2012 -2014, Oil accounts for only 15% of our GDP..............the real money is inTelecomms, construction, consumer products, service industries and technologies and that was how we were marked as the largest economy in Africa......take note we didn't mark ourselves.

The only challenge for now is that oil is the quickest source of Foreign exchange. It has continually been our steady source of income, but not the only possible income. Unfortunately as well, we are an import based economy, the biggest mistake from the start was adopting a restrictive foreign exchange policy and selling the President as the man behind the policy that sent everybody out...

Diamond bank today has allegedly sacked 400 but In-house staff swear by everything they own that it was a thousand that were sacked. Zenith have already done 1200, First bank 1000, FCMB shut down 40 branches across the country.....

All this tied to a poor FX policy which must be reviewed else Buhari no go fit hide again ooooooo

Expecting Reno to paint Buhari with a nice brush is like expecting Femi Adesina to praise the Jonathan administration. One thing I want to ask is that through his six years, did Jonathan operate on his own budget or not?

The 2016 budget was passed just this month so I don't know which miracle Mr Reno expects the Buhari govt to perform.

And sir, you don't need to regale us with those paper achievements and figures which had nothing in common with the reality on the streets. Of course, you'd believe it because you were in the corridors of power and was therefore shielded from the true state of things. Number one economy in Africa my foot!

However, I agree that the excuses are getting too much. We already know the previous administration didn't deliver and that's why we voted them out, no need reminding us of that but rather roll up your sleeves and get to work changing the way things are.

The best thing that happened in 2015 was that we now know we have the power to remove the government if they don't perform to our expectations. Come 2019, Nigerians will decide again.

This is not true. Far from the truth.

A clear policy direction and a leadership that is competent, creative, dynamic, and able to make and implement the right decisions is what is needed to make headway. I have long argued that (financial) corruption isn't the biggest problem affecting Nigeria's development. It has always been incompetence and non-financial corruption e.g. nepotism/parochialism/tribalism and disregard for rule of law.

A fairly competent government with a sound economic team was what Jonathan had and Buhari lacks. This is far more important than financial corruption or the lack thereof.

You're dead right. This is why I am still finding it difficult to forgive Jonathan for making such a grave, grave mistake.

The APC would be in power for donkey years even if this government is the worst in human history, except you take out BOTH Buhari and Tinubu. These two characters are pre-eminently undemocratic and have a vice grip on INEC and the Judiciary. There is zero chance that the 2019 elections would be credible, free and fair with these two characters still in the picture. Already, they have installed a senseless and hopelessly idiotic slowpoke called 'professor' (spits) Mahmood Yakubu as the chairman of INEC. A 'professor' idiot who has not been able to conduct even the smallest of state elections competently, let alone the general elections in 2019.
