A human rights group in Nigeria, the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) has cautioned the Nigeria President and Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari to stop the launching of Military force against the members of Niger Delta Militants, popularly called Niger Delta Avengers(NDA) which has been engaged in bombing of Oil and Gas pipelines in the Niger Delta Region of the country in recent time, as a way to show their grievances on the alleged marginalization of the region in the scheme of things, calling on President to retrace his action and embrace the option of dialogue.
The group however described President Buhari as a coward who did not fit to govern the Nation for shelving his visit to Ogoniland on the memorable clean-up of the region, saluting the uncommon courage of the Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo to shoulder the responsibility of leading the Federal Government delegation to the launching of Ogoniland clean-up programme on Thursday, saying Professor Osinbajo has shown the world that he loves and believes in the unity of the Country than his boss, President Buhari.
Speaking through a statement issued and signed by the CHRSJ’s Executive Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman on the recent crisis engulfed the region from the new Militant group and insistence of Federal Government to face the crisis with brutal force, which was made available to newsmen on Thursday, noted that the brute force would not solve the lingering problem than to complicate it, advising President Buhari led-Federal Government to embrace the option of dialogue like his predecessors in office in solving national crisis which is seriously affecting our economy.
