Personally I have warned people against this very act but they always look at me like a stray lunatic.

Dnt buy packaged food that is exposed to sunlight not just packaged food, cosmetics and what have u, sun ray initiates another reaction

Worst case is buying drugs from drugs vendors.

Government has warned against the consumption of bean cake, a nationwide delicacy popularly called moi moi when prepared and packaged in in cellophane (nylon), saying it is poisonous.

The government has also said the consumption of sachet (pure) water exposed to sun rays at over 28 degree Celsius was poisonous and that the incidence was responsible for many cases of kidney and liver failure among Nigerians.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Audu Ogbeh, gave the warnings at a public hearing on Food Security Bill organized by the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development on Thursday in Abuja.

Ogbeh told the hearing that cellophane contains a large dosage of dioxins that are harmful to health and advised lovers of the delicacy to use leaves in preparing it. He also alerted the public that beans and grains preserved with over dosage of pesticides by farmers and sellers had killed many unsuspecting Nigerians unknowingly.

He also said that poorly boiled meat could cause Tuberculosis and that were it for the culture of over boiling meat in Nigeria, many Nigerians would have been infected by the disease.

He said: “Many of the cows being moved from one place to the other by herdsmen are already infected with tuberculosis. But our practice of boiling meat very well here has been the saving grace from people being infected with the deadly disease.”

The minister further disclosed that smuggled frozen chicken preserved with formalin, a chemical commonly used in the preservation of corpses, posed serious health challenge.

He further said that wrong application of fertilizer by farmers had also led to poisonous consumption of food items.
The Minister commended the Senate committee for work on the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) Bill 2016; Food Security Bill 2016; and the Nigerian Institute of Soil Science Bill 2016, which according to him, would help in food security in the country and curbing production of poisonous foods.

Good precautions.. and not only bean cake or moi -moi popularly called ..but not when 80% Nigerians are always walking on hunger, they seize the slightest opportunity to grab seal foods when available.. imagine a brick-layer or mechanic who works ceaselessly under the scourging sun,you tell him not to grap a sachet of pure water when he brain is about melting out?

Nigerian which way...? Theres no Common basic needs for citizen .light, road and food...

This government are just fixing a square hole with a round peg..
